Similar to devil daggers it's not really a game that you'll immediately be good at or enjoy because the skillset you gain from other FPS games doesn't particularly translate over to this
Its my childhood game. And believe me, after 2 worlds, it gets hard real fast. Also dont worry if you fall in water or lava, you will respawn 5 times. The interesting elements are yet to come. The game is released in 2009 published by deep silver. Please play it more. Loved the video.
There's something to be said for a good old-fashioned dungeon crawl. IWD was pretty good and it also had a MP element to it which was nice. Also: If you can level up with Chromatic Orb, you can stunlock the final boss.
Yo thanks for giving it a go. Sorry about the controller issues. :( I just tested the controller on my end and it worked fine so I'm not sure what's happening there. In the past, people have had issues with Steams controller settings overriding the games settings. Anyways, thanks for playing and reviewing! Space
Ahh, the 'visual assault' style of art design. Flashing, particles and cycling colors are also an assault on encoding algorithms, but the video quality here actually looks decent.

Thanks for playing this! There's no goal. There's no end. It's just a place to explore and see what fun places and things you can find along the way. The creators were trying to make something like a living storybook for their young (at the time) kids. Turns out, there were many adults who liked it, too. :D
It seems hard to believe now that this was once a cult indie game, with great reviews and fame, a great showcase of the vita and Wii U's capabilities, now forgotten by time...

Dear Jon Renish, the cosmic ballet has come full circle. A year or so after I made FIGHTING SPACE, I discovered your channel and wanted to send you a key so that you can give it a spin. Unfortunately (luckily?) it never came to this as my indie game endeavors came to an aprupt end. I'm glad that you gave it a try. It's intentionally balls hard and takes multiple tries to get through (frustration levels anyone?). The easier route is to go to the first planet and avoid the mining area. Also, try Aunty Bloodsuck or CRANIAC as pilot. They're A tier. With Brenn you need to go for those talismans and score multiplier as he stacks up level upgrades through score. Good weapon combos for starters are missiles and massive laser. Midgame, switch to Zapper, then Electricity 9000 or missile battery. Special abilities (except the instant pickups) are tied to the ships. Smartbombs are good, in late game you might want a ship with invincible shield. All the best and thanks! There is actually a third game right now that you can also play, it's called Hooked on Art and you unlock it after beating Jumping Witch. Additionally, I get that playing an Arcade Game all the way through is not exactly up to today's standards of game design, which is why there's a Casual Mode in the options to enable checkpoints throughout the games. However, this shows us that we should communicate this better and prompt players with the choice between Casual Mode and 80s Mode when they start a new game. I can agree that the humor wasn't anything to write home about, though there were a few good bits that you just kind of ran right past without appreciating. Most of what I liked about the game was the semi-unique platforming mechanic of chaining swings together with the other limited movement options that you unlock along the way. The game never really does much to require excellent swinging skills, but I found plenty of ways to insert my own fun challenges with the swinging mechanics. You seemed consistently confused on what you were doing, so just to summarize, you work for Satan who has asked you to make sure his favorite pie is prepared in time for his birthday celebration. You go to tell you boss about it and find out that Satan murders people who don't do their job along the way. Now properly motivated with not wanting to die, your boss sends you off to collect all of the pie ingredients while he gets to work on cooking them all together. This game definitely isn't for everybody and is unquestionably rough around the edges, but if you liked the 2003 game _Whiplash_ and wanted something more modern then this is kind of it.
This game is absolutely incredible! Stole the top spot on my favourite games of all time list. Such a shame Microsoft shut down the studio as they were pitching a sequel for this masterpiece.

I basically died where you did, and I have the exact same attitude. I probably got this game in a bundle, and it wasn't interesting enough to do it all over again after I died.
I bought this game at $60 launch price to support Puppy Games, and never could get it to run on my laptop. When I first encountered puppy games, nobody was doing the future retro aesthetic like they were, and their games were simple arcade and tower defense fare. They said if this game didnt pay the bills, they were giving up game development. Doesnt seem like they struck gold with this one. Sad.
