Der Film "Joy Division" ist eine gelungene Hommage an eine der einflussreichsten Bands der Post-Punk-Ära. Er bietet eine tiefgründige und respektvolle Darstellung von Ian Curtis und seiner Band, wobei sowohl ihre Musik als auch ihr kultureller Einfluss gewürdigt werden. Für Fans der Band und der Musikgeschichte allgemein ist dieser Film ein Muss. Die Mischung aus persönlichen Geschichten, historischer Kontextualisierung und eindrucksvollen visuellen und musikalischen Elementen macht ihn zu einer fesselnden und bewegenden Dokumentation.
Ian Curtis is up there with Byron or any of the romantic poets in my view, however difficult is to say without sounding pretentious. The only negative thing I have to say about Joy Division is that the albums almost need a parental advisory warning (of course it doesn't really, but) - it's a very dark place for a teenager to go.

Everytimes i am looking at this masterpiece, i have goosebumps all over my body, all over my "Heart and Soul". Joy Division and Ian Curtis forever, but, shure, genius addictive to heroin Martin Hannett too, the one who sculpted the sound design of Unknown Pleasures. 🖤
A high water mark in music. Nothing like this will ever be created again because people will never be the same again. we have lost something... the commodification of human urges, the algorithms that drive what is heard and what is not. At least some of us remember.At least we were there.
Back in 1983, every Saturday we hopped in our cars in Calw and drove full speed through small Black Forest backroads to a club close to Karlsruhe called Galaxis. This place had state of the art sound and light show equipment. Serious dancing started around 11 pm with the usual fog, strobes and a two-colored laser.
