I have just done the os rear door sill on my xk8. I bought a metal shrinker/ stretcher to make the outer panels ....was a brilliant tool to make a patch panel. Good luck with resto .
Hi Malcolm, it has the engine, gearbox, and front half of the prop from a Nissan s13. The rest of the prop is Ford. It has a helical gear LSD, AVO adjustable shocks and lower, stiffer springs. Poly bushes, 2.8i drilled and grooved discs with yellow stuff pads, amongst lots of other modifications!

I know - had to put one in for a track day in a different car once and it hurt the power. This one is a lot more free flowing than that and didn't seem to affect the power noticeably
I got them from a place called Raceways of Donnington and they're called Raceway Racelites. 15x8 and 15x10. Last time I checked they were discontinued I'm afraid
@@RustedPistons Thanks for a fast answer! I just want to make sure they are compatible with a 1993 model that has an airbag steering wheel from the factory. I'm wondering that they might have changed the steering column a bit. Do you have any info on that?
Lift your carpets out. I have had 5 Jags and they were mostly shiny "on-top" but surprisingly very corroded to the underside. Get out your welding kit!
Thanks! That's my plan really - I'm going to take the whole interior out and assess the extent of the damage. Not before decatting it though - priorities!! 😂

Ford improved the electrics during their tenure of Jag ownership, but the rust problems persist. S-Types with rear subframes rotting off the chassis, X-Types with sills disintegrating, yet the Mondeo MK3 didn't suffer from that level of rot.
I don’t know if you have done this sort of restoration before, but if not, the reality is that you will only be able to see about 15-20% of the extent of the corrosion. That car needs stripping down to the bare shell and if working from home, about 1 man year’s work of metalwork working evenings, weekends and holidays, prior to a full respray and mechanical overhaul. In big handfuls, on a diy basis, budget no less than £20k. £50k if a professional does it. Clearly, you would need an emotional connection to this car to proceed with restoring it on either basis. I love this type of comment as it really spurs me on! I'll be stripping the interior out to inspect the floors and giving it a good jet wash underneath before I start welding. It'll never be a concourse car but I have cool plans for it and can see the finished result in my head! It'll all be done at home and on a budget so basically - keep your fingers crossed for me! 😂
@@RustedPistons Go by for it, as at least you will learn an awful lot along the way and teach yourself many skills! Just manage the budget and establish the extent of the work needed before committing large sums of cash to the project, in case you decide to abandon it.
@@RustedPistons i guess reality is somewhere between these two assessments, depending on standard of finished item...so disheartening seeing a lovely car eaten away thanks to manufacturers saving 1% or less of cost price by not following rust prevention protocols
If you remove the cat, what about the down stream oxygen sensor? the ECU will scream engine light on all the time, emissions will be out and then no MOT, fit a used one. Also the switch pack on the front seats fit into a bezel that is screwed to the seat frame, the clips in the Bezel break when you remove the switch pack, and you have to loosen the leather hold down hooks to remove the Bezel. the Drivers side Bezel is available from Jag, but not the passengers side.

It looks like it was well kept, probably - definitely have rust in the floor, sills and rear arches - as the majority do at a certain age…. But it runs and drives very well, so should be a good project…. Look forward to seeing your adventures…. By the way, the rear fuse box cover, turn it over and there may be a fuse puller and spare fuses….
Yes there's rust in all the rear arches and sills for sure! It does run very well. I need to start practising with the mig! I'll have a look at that fuse box cover, too!
Yes - it's a good engine. I replaced all the ignition parts before the winter set in. Cranks a bit slower when it's cold, though -think it could probably do with a fresh battery soon
