@5:13 As you said, if a cord is plugged in and can touch a sink within 6 feet, it has to be GFCI. The sink can be touched with no issue with that outlet under the sink. The sink is literally 12 inches away from the outlet. The code doesn't say the top side or bottom side of the sink. Sooo, you assume you would be in violation.
Ignoring monuments is very bad. But yielding to monuments can be worse! If a monument is at least indirectly called for in the deed AND a preponderance of the evidence shows the monument to be the original monument (or it's replacement) in the original location, accept it as a mark of the conveyance. Otherwise it is of little benefit to prove a boundary. Even where a monument can be verified as original, current ownership may be at a different location. Monuments in the wrong location can become controlling points on the boundary due to the action or inaction of adjoining owners. For every principal of surveying there is a similar principal of law. Most of the time, applying either one will lead to the same conclusion. Where they don't get the same result, which one do you think a court will use? A survey education is great to learn the technological aspect. But what a client wants to know is the geological extent of his ownership rights. And that's a legal issue! If you want to get it right, study law.
