What about the lip out embouchure?

Or you could just work on embouchure and breath support

That should be the first thing to work on :)

@@LondonSaxophoneSchool if you work on embouchure and breath control you won’t need to use tricks to get low notes to speak
@LondonSaxophoneSchool

@@drda1626 this trick is very useful at times...it all depends on the piece you're playing and the level of accuracy you are seeking.

Sound amazing! what’s the jazz articulation in terms of slurred/tongued?
@LondonSaxophoneSchool
@LondonSaxophoneSchool 12 дней назад
Thanks a bunch! :) When you have a sequence of 8th notes you tongue every 2 notes on the off-beats. In this scale here I begin by tonguing the first note and then start tonguing on the off-beats :)

It can be a good approach but it does not always works. You have to judge on context as every piece is different :)

Hello, can't find any video or instruction on this but I'm coming from clarinet and I find playing low C to Eb very uncomfortable on alto sax. Is there any tip for this or is that just the nature of only having Eb on one side?
@LondonSaxophoneSchool
@LondonSaxophoneSchool 22 дня назад
Low C-Eb is a very annoying fingering and there's nothing you can do to improve it. The type of saxophone you have makes a huge difference as the height of the keys matters big time. :)

Is warbling noise a sign of a leak?
@LondonSaxophoneSchool
@LondonSaxophoneSchool Месяц назад
Ehm possibile but having a leak doesn't usually produce warbling notes but rather an empty note... Warbling (low) notes are most likely result of poor embouchure...but do have your horn checked just in case :)
