How about a filleting deck insert for the big table made out of teflon that included low blocks or wedges at the front that gave it a bit of slope toward the back, a solid dam wall 2-3" high to contain bloody runoff, and a drain penetration & hose or trough that would drain all that blood & water out past the boat gunnel and over board. Could even include some vertical fillet knife blade slots for several knives and maybe a hook on each side to hang a washdown hose nozzle needed during fish filleting or gutting. Would probably also leave it in place for bait prep. Then when you want your nice clean table (not full of stained knife cut marks and herring scales) back, you stow the insert and get out your food & drinks spread. (side note - in the process of buying a boat with the 650 mounts installed around the back deck, so getting interested in how I can use them!) Looks like some great options.... I'd just hate to mess up my wife's buffet table cuz she'd want me to get my own for fish guts:).

Love it! Keep the ideas coming. Our cutting boards have a lot of potential for expanded offerings. You've nailed it on the versatility we like to offer . . . please let us know if you would like to talk through your needs with the new boat . . . congratulations!

Regarding skipping the swivel base, sometimes with a fish on you want to run the ball up and out of the water and swing the rigger forward to clear it as far as possible to make room for fisherman and net man, as it's a real bummer to get a live fish line tangled with the rigger or clip lead. That maneuver would be difficult with the lift & swing scenario with the cannonball on, but it is nice to save the 6" height the base adds. Maybe Burnewiin should make a swivel base that's only a couple inches thick!

Hello . . . great insight. Yes, everyone has slightly different practices/needs. We typically run our downriggers all the way forward, leaving clean gunwales rearward. Great suggestion as well on the low-pro swivel base! (may have something in the works there). Cheers.

Do any of your rod holders work with fly rods?
