An Earthship is a radically sustainable home that does 6 basic things:

1. Garbage disposal - Earthships are made with recycled materials.
2. Heating and cooling using thermal mass walls.
3. Water is caught on the roof from rain and snow melt.
4. Food is grown inside and outside.
5. Electricity created with solar or wind modules.
6. Sewage is treated on site using botanical planters.

Have you ever considered using a solar dump water heating system?

Hi. How are you? I really like all the concept, the house, everything however can i adapt this system to a house in the city? How can I do if i don't have a big land and neighbours next to me? Is that possible?

Absolutely wonderful. Exactly how environmental impact should be rated and compared against. I would also say the other integration of natural materials and local supplies. The garbage around us is becoming local supplies and native materials as we continue polluting our environment and surroundings. Our local communities could be self sustaining due to our overwhelming consumption. I can't wait to attend this academy with a friend that invited me. It's the,,, bear necessities the simple bear necessities. I have worked on hay bundle housing, rammed earth walls and tire walls, even adobe buildings over the past 25 years. Now it's time to learn how to do it right. How to get all the coordination and integration of new technical systems incorporated.

Dear Sir😊 This is an invitation to my latest avenue of thought. I ran out of room! Rearranged it. And ? I changed the very bottom. Twice. Breaking my own rules! Viva la oh well. Sometimes a change in direction can be a 360 on a dirt road . Spew some dust and back on the road in the same direction! Ole! Just cant eat the donut left behind😂. Hope you are well content because i know you are God loved. Sincerely CFD Just a million ru-vid.com/group/PLLGiboWCnMISfy20rVv2-lHA_b1xn_IWr&feature=shared

Hi, I wanted to say I’ve been watching your videos for years and love and greatly respect what your are accomplishing! I was looking for a place to email but couldn’t find one. I’ve worked in site work excavation for some years. I wanted to share an idea to try for filling and compacting tire walls that could cut down on manual labor. My experiment would be to 1.) stake a form to retain first row of tires similar to forming out a concrete pad. 2.) lay out a row of tires against the form. 3.) fill a full row of tires with dirt to the point that dirt is mounding over top edge. 4.) ride a vibratory PLATE compactor over full row of tires. 5.) add small amounts of fill to center of tire as necessary and repeat step 4and 5 to reach Desired compaction. 6.) backfill and (possibly compact) behind firewall to top of 1st row. 7.) move on to second row and so on. Maybe this could work? Just an idea. Would love your feed back. I say this in all sincerity and with deepest respect 😁👍

“We are all sacks of water … I see these sacks of water need shelter , need refuge , you cannot put yourself on this planet, 🌎 and not be involved with all of the other people on the planet , if you are sitting there with a hundred billion dollars and a billion people are starving and homeless , you are an idiot …..that’s not the kind of thing that’s going to make us exist here much longer , it’s all about every sack of water to have everything it needs to not freeze into a cube of ice . …….. The earth ship concept is based unarguables ( I might call these core commonalities ) I love this man’s mind and heart and soul / thank you for being, truth is we are all bodies of water We are all of the same water The ism’s ought to be euthanised asap A world That takes care of the issues that learns that we need to be together in how we will sustain our species as a whole - What a great philosophy- a true foundation to bring all division to a halt - All the idiotic arguing - that comes to no solutions just more idiocy - He is correct , when he says , people sitting on billions of dollars - If it’s not in their nature Find those of us who are born of this nature , who see no difference between myself and any other human being / as we are all bodies of water and electricity in this amazing gift of life- no life should starve or go unsheltered - Where do I sign up ? I’d love to help build these kinds of homes -

Need more storage in theses. Bigger pantry and how about a root cellar? If you can or dehydrate food you need a place to store the supplies for doing that and the food you canned or dehydrated. Also you will still need a garden , or bigger green house to grow enough food to feed you. If you mend your clothes, sew or craft you need storage for those supplies. Composting toilet they used to do would be better. Add the permaculture principles to the earthship principles and you will bring more of supplying your needs home, and community,

I am a fan of the earth ship idea. I understand the concept to be using readily available resources that some would call trash for economic building that is sustainable. Therefore, it is shocking to see earth ships for sale in Taos at prices from $500k to $900 k. Seems like price gouging and protesting more than pursuit of a passion cor service

I need one of these on my mini-farm. If someone with a youtube channel or some organization would like to build one and film the process and give tours for a month or two only, or do a work shop(classes) I'm in Kentucky. I'm a senior citizen and my son is disabled. We would love to have a home in the country especially since I already bought an eight acre farm right before covid and I might have to sell it next year if we don't move there as I can't afford the upkeep and taxes on two properties. Thanks for reading, prayers are also welcome.

I want to come out and be apart of your team. My father co-owns a welding shop and we have a lot of extra metal always lying around that rollover to new jobs. I know how to MIG and STICK weld along with basic construction of a home. I also had a RU-vid channel that had around 100 thousand subscribers and was growing fast. I got deleted from youtube because my content was inappropriate. I was 13-14 years old when that happened. I am 22 now and still have 5,000 subscribers, know a thing or 2 about thumbnail creation and how to edit videos in order to get a lot of viewership. I also have a online community that I could use to spread the news about the release of a new video. Please comment on this and let me know if you are willing to take on another hand. I don't care about getting paid, I want to see your project grow and provide people with an escape from the stressful reality we are all facing. I can work 7 days a week and am willing to give my time to your cause. I will also shoot you an email because I am having a difficult time right now. I don't want to slave for a large corporation and would rather make a difference.

@OnlyFactsPlease 26 дней назад
Use your trash to build another earthship!😉Joking aside, this kind of home is built off-grid, usually meaning away from cities' trash infrastructure. Basically, if it isn't metal or glass, it just gets burned. and the metal and glass bottles can be used to build more Earthships!

Love how simple the design is becoming. Next step is eliminating the tirewall for its labor intensity. That is the last hurdle to mass adoption. Has there been any attempt with rammed earth? I would love to see how that works.
