@@tbugher62 explain to me how this affects you in anyway. there are hundreds of calibers out there that do all sorts of different jobs. Why are some people personally offended at the caliber or something other than what they own?
@@jacktheaviator4938 we’re doing the best we can. Info was changing fast then. And it takes a day to film and edit. I either lost a video I know isn’t accurate. Or try to get the best version out asap. Nothing else I could do. You are watching breaking news 6 months later :)
@@Mattclay29 I am from a world where I can do more than 1 thing. I am taking a 3 day carbine class with my buddies. I am headed up to a long range training from swat instructors, more tactical style. Then I am going in December to more of a hunting style long range class. I love 556. Love 308. But until you have hunted suppressed. You don’t know
You have the kind of money to shoot 8.6, buy a Q, AND buy a thermal for it: don’t be scared to file/grind on that grip till it works. A buddy of mine used to love the BCM pistol grips and billet lowers. We always have to modify the gross to get them work. And that rifle setup with worth more than him and I make in a month combined hahah
@@EagleRun23 I’d go for it man: even if you go a little too far your barely notice it and it’s purely cosmetic as it’s not like you’re grinding on the mating surface. Plus then you have your own grip no one else has!
My go to big game load has been the 375 H&H, but this 8.6 really has me intrigued. A loght carbine would be amazing on back country hunts in the Northwest Territory, i am just holding off to see how it performs st range.
Having done just a ton of shooting but so far so good. 3rd shot ever out of it I was on steel at 325yrds. So id say good enough for any reasonable hunting distances, and deer definitely do not like the 350 grain maker rex
Just like shooting a Pumpkin out of a air cannon. (8.6 Sighted in at 100 Yds) 3" above sight at 50 yds, 33" below at 200 yds. There Ain't a scope that can compensate. Kentucky windage. My 22LR or 30-30 Win is more accurate and drops less. Resurrecting the 35 Rem or the 338 Federal??
I can shoot an 8" plate at 400. its on video on my channel. At 100 yards I can shoot a 1.5" group with all of my 86 guns. I have 10 or 11, haha. My Tract Toric ELR has 47 mil of adjustment. thats 160 inches i think?
@@ashleehouse5204 probably according to a calendar ya haha. How are ya Ashlee! So my “fall” hunts start next week, kids back in school. Summer camps are done. I am full blown pumpkin spice now. Hahaha
@@davidbrunner4413 you aren’t considering how wildly popular leverage guns have been the last 2 years. You also have not considered the possibilities that modern calibers bring to the table over vintage lever only calibers.
@@WillyK51 hey Willy. I appreciate the comment. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make? If you already have a 20 gauge that shoots slugs and you like it there would be no reason to consider a 338. Especially if you only own 1 or 2 AR’s If you’re selecting a gun and gun combo and drop is a consideration, you would also not consider a 338 Spectre This is a subsonic hunting round which is a little bit unconventional. It’s drop beyond 150 yards not really important. Is it capable of taking an animal beyond 200, sure but I would pick a different caliber for that job. It’s ok to have several guns in several calibers to do different jobs :). Blessings brother!
Ive aleays been taught to put the front peg on the target, not under it, is that just this sight that is different, or are there just different ways to use iron sights?
Fellow Texan here! That's a very interesting scope! I currently run thermal on a 16" Fix (8.6 BLK)...but the thought of color too, my interest is piqued!!! Thanks for the video, keep it up!
