What’s funny is, Hades as a mythological character (depicted very differently from in Hercules) was already called Pluto in a much earlier animation! The 1934 short “The Goddess of Spring” calls him Pluto, though Persephone’s name stays the same ☺️
Plus Ancient Greeks would even call him Plouton in plays or when addressing as they were afraid saying his actual name would summon him. Then Rome made it his actual name.
