This is what happens when the writer/director doesn't even like the character to begin with. You have someone telling a story with no passion, no love and no concern for positive portrayal of the character. If you have the wrong guy for the job, it really shows in the finished product.
Let’s get Zack Snyder to continue directing his DC Comics saga. Then let’s get him to direct James Bond or an Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark film. Great filmmaker. Great man. Strong favorite. Never compromise! #RestoretheSnyderverse
As a former holder of a US Top Secret Security Clearance, I have come across many intelligence agents. Jason Clarke's performance in 0Dark30 is incredible. His command of the agent's personality, demeanor, and his American accent is peerless. Congratulations Jason on a truly captivating performance. Maya may have been the central focus of the movie, but I think you carried that film like no supporting actor ever has. Thank you for being you. I wish you all the best, both now and in the future.
Man of Steel has my favourite score of all time. Sidenote but listening to people talk about Zack makes me so happy. You can tell just by the way people talk about him and in his own interviews he genuinely LOVES what he does and he’s just having a great time. Even if I end up not liking one of his movies in the future I hope he keeps on making the movies he wants to make
clue104 he takes his work seriously. It's not for everybody. Some people like mindless action comedy popcorn flicks. He doesn't make treat the audience like they're stupid or kids like they're retarded, unlike other superhero movies.
What a genius. His MoS soundtrack is amazing. I like it much better than John Williams. Williams Superman theme is iconic but Zimmer score for MoS was just so inspiring and amazing. So motivational. Its something new and amazing.
My favorite director at the moment. I love how he has brought back the aesthetics & characteristics from the German Expressionist era of silent films by using comics as a visual medium. But people who are so used to conventions complain that he's all visuals, stylizing and no storytelling. Snyder, in his films, tries to convey a metaphorical message through the images themselves. His visuals and stylizing aren't simply a spectacle but they serve a purpose in developing the story. What Snyder has tried to do with his characters is to develop them beyond what they say to how they look and what they do. But most people just want dialogue to spoonfeed them all the time then mistake the lack of it for poor storytelling.
This is the kind of personal involvement that make a composer create a masterpiece, because he is not thinking of just "cool music" for a movie, he is thinking about persona motivations, personal journeys and feelings. This is what I'm NOT seeing in Danny Elfman involvement in Justice League. It just seems he has no interest whatsoever, that he is just thinking of creating cool music. Which is way, if you see people reactions to his soundtrack, NOBODY will say is better than Man of Steel or BvS.
He is an absolute Genius . The way his music moves the emotions of everyone who hears it . People like what they see on the screen not realizing that it's this man's Genius who is making that scene special and make it memorable. I think he is far above the rest . They are good but he is just unbelievable .
