That made a lot of difference. I hope you get to retire when you want but we will see what November has in store. I, too, have to clear out an area and rebuild a lean-to. Yay. Last time I tried, my neighbor called the police and it was a cluster. That is on my concrete land marker video. I wish I knew why some people are so mean.
Having good neighbors makes things much easier for sure. It can get very difficult when other people choose to make it that way. People can be hard to comprehend for sure.
It is always nice to see the rooms turn from a construction project into a finished room. Glade to hear about the motivation, that is one of the hopes for this channel!

Will the floor people put in an inlay and rid of the transition strips in the doorways to the bedrooms? I have never heard of a quad outlet. This project is really amazing, thanks for the update and so glad you are sharing.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying this series! In this case the door transitions to the existing bedrooms will not be removed as the owners did not request the extra cost. A Quad outlet is technically just an electrical term for two separate duplex receptacles in a two-gang box.

That angle grinder gives me hope. I thought I would have to buy a table saw for my bathroom rebuild. Not sure how the edges would look on large format tile. Should I go ahead with the table tile saw? What is that cut out above the door in the hallway.? Not the attic access, the cut out above the door to the right.
Using the angle grinder should work fine as long as you have a steady hand, which from watching your videos you should be fine. We use a diamond cutting wheel for cutting the tile you can find different versions of them in the tool section at Home Depot, but it's easier to find the correct one in the tile section at Home Depot. The cut out above the closet door is for the HVAC return. It seemed to be the least invasive location for this addition while still being easy for the homeowner to change the filters.
This heat is definitely no fun. Every level of work is different but just as needed. My project is definitely to the extreme, borderline teardown. The best of luck to you in your projects!
I prefer to add them at the time of the switch install, if needed, this helps keep the box neater and less cramped if not needed. Some smart switches need a pigtail, but most of them have pigtails attached that would get tied in with the neutrals.
@@RCHBuilders I get your reasoning, but I view wire nuts as once and done, and if you need to add another wire later it compromises the joint, imo. Wago lever nuts have a distinct advantage in these cases.
That would depend on if you live in the area that we are licensed in! I rarely use "service loops," but always leave extra wire when doing so...I hate going to change out devices in peoples houses where the guy before left no slack to work with.
Thanks for the update on this project. Sounds as if you have good neighbors there, that should scare off squatters since the neighbors know you . Curious how you are going to handle all that peeling paint. Thought you might have a four-legged Tyler replacement there for a moment when you were pouring concrete 😄
So far all the neighbors I have talked to have been very nice, which is a very good thing for future selling as well. Considering the rest of the homes in the neighborhood, we may end up installing vinyl siding on the outside. Unfortunately, the Tyler replacement didn't help carry any of the heavy bags...LOL
Historical societies make everything so much more difficult. I really need new windows. The ones I have are original to the house which was a kit house built in the 50s. Single pane 3 over 3.
Great looking windows. Around here in my area they use a green board with black tape called a zip system. Just an observation not to criticize, if tyler...... AKA grasshopper...... Would hold the hammer down lower he can get more power driving the nails in. Just an observation..... Thanks again for another informative video.
Thanks for the comment. I have seen the greenboard in my area as well, mostly on subdivision houses. In the case of these windows I believe Tyler was choking up on the hammer to insure he didn't accidently damage the actual window.
For commercial properties, to flip...INVEST in commercial tools. Their are several larger commercial lawn mowers to eat through yards like this. When flipping or revamping houses... always keep homes neat looking, deters folks from nonsense
Having a commercial style lawn mower would definitely be nice someday. Hoping to be able to spend a little more time working on this house in the near future.
My supervisor is the one who tries to remind me to take breaks...I have a tendence to just keep pushing till it is done, which may be too much sometimes.
The reason for this is that screws are very easy to accidentally overtighten. This can possibly create two different issues: 1.) The screws pop completely through the flange over time leaving nothing holding the window. 2.) The flange twisting which causes the window styles to also twist which will make the window sashes difficult or impossible to operate.
Tyler has definitely been a big help. He has learned a lot and can handle a lot of things on his own, sometimes even when he doesn't think so. Couldn't ask for anyone better.
It is nice on jobs like these where we can store our materials in rooms we are not working in at the time. At the time of this video, we were working on the addition outside and were able to store the materials in these rooms we had finished with for the time being.
Another great video! I sure have picked up a few great pointers watching your videos. Nice to see that you keep it clean and uncluttered work area.
