With your comment about sometimes a color fixture is too saturated...well, having deep saturation is handy when there is light pollution that will mix and desaturate your color. So by having more saturated colors, it can fight the pollution better, to get closer to your desired result.
Do you think the 1200x would be a better investment than this 600c pro ii because of the output ? Do you ever wish u had more output when you only brought any of these 600 aputure lights ?
Depends on what you need, if you're a videographer, a DP, a rental house, or an owner-op gaffer, and also what the rest of your lighting inventory looks like. They are different tools that fulfill different needs. If you need a bright, deep blue wash over your background, gels on the 1200x might not get you what you want. If you're lighting from outside, through a window, and you want strong "sunlight" streaming in, the 600C Pro II might not have the punch you want. If you're trying to own just one big light, that's a choice only you can make based on what you need the most right now. If you're adding to your inventory, you could consider getting both. I own a 1200D but find myself needing that AND something in the 600 range and have worked with rented 600C's quite a bit lately, so I may pick one up. Another way of looking at it - keep doing whatever work you do, and feel out where the pain points and limitations are. After enough shoots, you'll know what you're always saying you wish you had on hand. OR, if people are renting your gear, you'll know what most often gets requested that you don't have. That will inform you MUCH better on what to buy than any rando's RU-vid comment.
Woah! With the color mode, how is the brightness comparable to in the Aputure/Amaran family? I was thinking of the 600C Mk2 but if the 1200X is as bright as 600C Mk1 then… 🤷🏿♂️
That's not the best advice. I'd say never use cheapo RGB lights. Professionals have used RGB (or RBGWW, or more recently, RGBCAL or other variants) on high end commercial and film sets for years now with full color LED fixtures from Astera, Arri, Creamsource, Digital Sputnik, etc. Yeah, older bicolor Litemats notoriously need some G/M correction with gels, sure, but "never use RGB lights" is a bit silly in my opinion.
Thank you for the info! I purchased one the moment I saw the announcement from Aputure. It seems pretty amazing! Also, I shot a commercial in Korea about two years ago. I'll definitely check out your location if I get another shoot there.
SanDisk Extreme are no longer on the Blackmagic 6K Approved media list. They are still fine for 4K. Samsung T7 Shield is the new go to, especially when on sale.
Hi! I'm John, I designed the prototype at 15:07. Thanks for the kind words, I'm really glad you enjoy it! We're planning to make that into a finished product if there's enough interest. Side note, it does look a little military-style, doesn't it? It's all parts we had on-hand, plus a 3d-printed case. The final would be a little more stylish!
I am glad you do suggest to calibrate the sensor if you are having issues. Just because it didn't have an effect for your one trial run, it is quite possible that most people will need to do this step. That one nitpick aside, this is the best video on using the gyro stabilization for blackmagic cameras I've seen. Thanks.
10:50, I like seeing the prompter on all the screens. That is a very flexible means of distributing the feed to multiple folks that might need to see it while recording.
Wow that's a pretty thorough video! Glad you are enjoying FluidPrompter! And that little accsoon gadget for HDMI input to the iPad is pretty cool for people using video switchers like a Atem Mini - but FYI, we will have live video sharing built into the FluidPrompter app this fall (on paid plans). I'll be excited when that feature drops!
Definitely I like the accounting of the workflow. These things are never just 1 part or piece in isolation. It's multiple pieces and then the people that operate them for the people who are on screen being recorded or streaming.
Thanks for posting this. I use my URSA Mini Pro 4.6K and a Desview T15" Teleprompter self-reversing monitor connected to a PC. The software that comes with is utter garbage and the worst UI known to man. I never thought about using the ATEM to switch between as a confidence monitor and the teleprompter though. Really cool idea. Love the idea of using Fluid Prompter. I will have to try that! I have thought about writing my own desktop app in WPF that has a key and fill options that would allow for overlaying that over the confidence monitor (setup the ATEM as Supersource and lower the opacity of the confidence monitor so you get both overlaid). I have no idea if that would be too distracting though. lol I have used a confidence monitor in the past though just to keep my eyes glued to the camera. There is a lot to be said about seeing someone (even if it's yourself) when talking to a camera.
Oh yeah! We have tried mixing the teleprompter and the camera feed and so far everyone felt it was too hard to read while seeing themselves 😂 But it was worth trying though! That said I believe the developers are working in some Ultrastudio/Decklink functionality that could be used for that purpose most likely! :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@AnotherCameraChannel Haha! That's great to know! :P I appreciate it. By the way, nice to see your channel growing! You make some really nice, easy to watch and follow videos. Keep it up!
Tidy build, nice to see the inside shelf with the power supplies, hadn't thought of that before for all the small devices instead of running a larger power conditioner with IEC cables.
When we tested it at a big trade show in Japan there were no problems, but I guess it's just a case of trying them out? Maybe you can order and return via Amazon if they don't work out for you 😅 amzn.to/4fcAVN3
@AnotherCameraChannel there is an another way around for cameras with single hdmi output i.e. use an hdmi spliter on camera output then u can connect transmitter and monitor at the same time without having any delay or issue. What do u think of that?
Anything you put in the signal chain is going to add to the delay however you may be able to find a splitter that has less delay than the transmitter, or the monitor, then at least they are receiving the signal at the same time. It could be a good idea :) you'd just have to test it out!
@@AnotherCameraChannel do u think its a good buy today in its particular price bracket? I also looked into pyro h but its not upto the mark and currently mars 4k is available for $520
Pyro H isn't good enough because it's only HDMI? There's also the Pyro S which is SDI and HDMI. So the closest to the Mars 4K at In and Out. From my understanding the Mars System will only have 5" screens, like the Mars M1 Enhanced. There will never be a 7" size. Where the Pyro system has the 7" screen. I also have the Pyro H. I think if I would invest in more I would go with the Pyro as they have the larger screen. I personally really like 7" screens. However, I also really like Accsoon, and they are releasing a 4K system soon I think from their teaser video so I'd at least wait for that one to come out before buying anything. Tech improves so fast so it's always good to check out what's coming out :)
@@AnotherCameraChannel yea because of being only hdmi and S is more addition to the price so it goes upto the next bracket. I am not into M1 and i prefer getting exclusive monitor(s) relatively bigger screen size so i dont think 5 or 7 inches screen size are the deciding factors here. Accson is another good option and cant agree more with the rapid evolution of the tech. It would be interesting to compare different models within specific price brackets
Thank you! I'm pretty sure for this it was just a 600d with a 105cm Selens Lightdome +grid going through a Matthews 4x4 White Artificial Silk (Yellow) and as a backlight there's a 60X up on the ceiling!
On paper, 600c pro ii should have a lot more output. I'm curious why it's so close to the i version... I was gonna buy one, now I'm not sure anymore, really on the fence on this one.
@@AnotherCameraChannelthe funny thing is, on sidus link app on the illumination handbook section there's a bare bulb lux reading at 1m and 5600k, 600c pro II gives 21610 lux vs 22150 lux from 600d, there's no reading for reflector on 600c ii pro so I don't know what is going on with that information
@@LukasStumpf I already have two 300c, a 600d and a 600x, I was just amazed by the idea that the 600c ii would phase out the 600d much like the 300c phased out 300d ii for owners (no rental usage)
How does it affect the quality of the shot? Since there is a zoom in, a little quality will be lost from the original footage, no? Thanks for the amazing & Usefull video!!!
Depending on how strong the stabilization needs to be, the more it’ll crop, and yeah you could lose some quality but if you’re using a 6K and exporting at 4K you probably won’t notice at all! The only other thing may be motion blur bumps from shutter speed!
Great job !!! ❤ I’m currently working on a project and I’m aiming to achieve the best lighting possible for my cyc wall. Here are the details: Cyc Wall Dimensions: Approximately 4.88m (L) x 2.79m (W) x 3m (H) Camera Setup: Sony FX6 with a Sony GM lens 1.4, shooting at 5600K, f/1.4, 23.98 fps Goal: Achieve the best-exposed and evenly lit image on the cyc wall in a daylight environment Height: I have only 10 ft (3m) of height I’m considering using Aputure lights mounted to the ceiling. Specifically, I’m interested in the types of lights, their placement, and any tips you might have for achieving one unified and well-exposed vibrant cyc wall. What are the most effective light sources in this situation? Would panels be a good choice? How many sources would you recommend? The cyc is only 2 walls. Additionally, how effective is the LS 600c Pro II compared to the LS 600x and 600d? I was planning to buy 1 LS 600d and 2 LS 600x for filmmaking purposes. Can I change them with the LS 600c Pro II, and will it get the job done? Thank you so much for your time and help!
