I am 78 years old. Revisiting this and reading you commits I tell you guard your life don’t become hard hearted. God made men to be strong, to defend, to provide and to preserve others and other living things. I did that and know that the world was likely a better place because I was in it but for a short while. I am satisfied with that way of going.

Should've just handed the old man his "purse" and left. Leave people alone who are alone, they're alone for the sole reason of to be left alone. Anyone, anything else is just intruding. Burnt potatoes aren't bad.
Guys. An old depressed mad man who hates squirrels (who hates SQUIRRELS?!?!?) and goes for immediate killing one as soon as he is aware of it's presence? He must have endured some kind of trauma as a child. Nothing to make big thoughts about his further acting orcwhat sense may be in his poor life. None. These persons are everywhere. No matter how hard people try to be friendly.....suspicion is the principle of disturbed minds😮
I just wonder why he didn't plant a few of those potatoes in that big yard of his, and save himself the bother of carrying them all. Not to mention the savings 😂
we let small insignificant things throw us off the actions and events which are responsible for our daily well being and rhythm. the man got lost in his hateful mindset with the squirrel, which lead him to assume the worst of the woman. Consequentially his rhythm is broken and his potato burns, throwing everything off simply due to his getting lost in unhealthy spiral of the mentally decrepit. She leaves sad to see the man in his state, and happy to have still been able to help him.
