I have difficulties making that lift without stretching the tape. I had accomplished it before seeing your video by stretching the tape while lifting the side of the face and taping it there. How do you accomplish the lift without stretching the tape though? Is it meant to not be stretched AT ALL? Thank you!
This application requires you to move around in order to move the lymph. The entire purpose is to drain stagnant lymph from the area. When you move your body you are moving your lymph. If you are horizontal while sleeping, there is no movement and the taping for this issue will not help.
This can be a great option IF the issue is a stagnant lymph issue. Facial exercises can be helpful as well. Not everyone will respond to this type of taping.
Absolutely! I always recommend combining the applications. For your example, the application for the bunny lines would go on first and then the 11’s application.
Love these videos. I’m in Canada, I’ve looked for a Shi Gua sha and could not find 🥲 I have the heart shaped one though. But it does not have the teeth part
That is ok, any board will work. If you are using the heart shaped board, use the point of the heart for when you would use the teeth, it will work too. 😊
Grazie 🎉
So sorry for the late reply. The anchor is simply the tape where the application starts. You will hold that part of the tape in position as you are smoothing the skin for the application of the rest of the piece of tape. This application doesn’t help with firming the breasts, sorry.
Sorry for the late reply. Facial tape is very gentle and can be worn overnight. There are certainly some harsher tapes out there that would not be great for the skin for longer periods of time. We recommend a few of them that are super gentle, please have a look at our “Let’s talk Tape” video.
Sorry for the late reply. Everyone is different but it is usually fine. However, if you tend to peel or have any irritation at all with the retinol, I would skip the taping.
Sorry for late reply. Make sure that when you are taping and applying the tape, that there are NO wrinkles under the tape. This is extremely important. The skin needs to be smooth under the tape so the tape is just holding the skin in that position. Hope this helps.
By pulling gently on the skin you are positioning the muscles and skin where they need to be (and ensuring there are no wrinkles under the tape) and then taping them in that position. This allows for a little stretch in the tape after application for some movement to naturally happen while sleeping if doing the overnight application. When you stretch the tape to apply, it is very easy to apply the tape too tightly and create a wrinkle as the tape will contract slightly after application if it has been stretched. Also, if we are trying to work on a mimic wrinkle (like the 11’s), and we want to relax the muscle, we don’t want the tape to contract on an muscle we are trying to relax. Overused and tight muscles will cause mimic wrinkles so we want to keep it relaxed and stretched. If you don’t stretch the tape, the tape won’t constrict.
No, that is way to harsh for the delicate skin on the face and especially around the eyes. I would recommend either Spidertech Tape - Gentle or Kinesio Tape - Gold Light Touch only for the face.
If you are taping properly, say for the 11’s as an example, there will be a change when you take the tape off in the morning. If you are trying to life, you should do the taping in conjunction with facial exercises to life the lax muscles. I recommend taping for the cheeks for at least a month with nightly taping and then 2 to 3 times a week to maintain. Try the Lower face rest exercise we have on the channel to target the cheeks.
If using and applying tape correctly, it will not cause wrinkles. But, if you are causing wrinkles or taping with wrinkles under the tape, it will cause wrinkles. Please ensure proper taping technique for a smooth application where there are NO wrinkles around or under the tape.
That is a good question, but I doubt it would change anything. There would be some additional space taken up from the braces but not enough to change the muscle position.
Hello. Thank you for your wonderful videos. I have 2 questions 1. Is it fine to use lymphatic taping and leave it for several days in a town? 2. Do you have technique for uneven eyebrows? Thank you
I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos. Regarding your questions: 1. I don’t recommend keeping the lymph taping on for more than 8 hours at a time. 2. I would work on the eyebrow that is lower with some gentle facial cupping, gua sha and facial exercises to get some lift so it matches the other side. Microcurrent can also be wonderful for asymmetry. Good luck!
thanks for your suggestions, they are very useful ☺️ I wanted to know if the method for deflating a double chin is the same for those who only have a tissue laxity problem. Thank you
Happy they helped! Unfortunately, if the skin laxity is severe there isn’t anything that taping can do to tighten that up. If the laxity is minimal, you can try strengthening and toning the muscles in the area, since the skin is attached to the muscles. This can work wonders on the cheek area but necks are tricky. If you want to try that angle, I would recommend the tongue roll, lower face reset and turkey neck exercises we have available on the channel. If it is severe, there are some non-ablative laser options that can help to tighten skin.
Precut tape in theory is wonderful and so much faster, but the issue is everyone’s facial measurements are different so there is just not a one size fits all. If you do pre-cuts, you will still need to cut it to fit your specific face. Also be careful as most pre-cuts are for the body and the adhesive is too intense for the face. An easy way to get your tape cut is to do it all at once. Once you get your length for a specific area you want to tape, spend 15 to 20 minutes cutting a week or two weeks or more of the same size and keep that in an envelope or container of some sort. Then, when you are ready to apply at night, when you don’t want to cut the tape, you can just quickly grab a precut that is perfect for you. It makes things much faster and easier.
The taping application is recommended to be bilateral, so both sides should be taped. Unless you are dealing with a lot of asymmetries and you are only wanting to correct one side.
For turkey neck, you will find more benefit from the facial exercises to work on the muscles of the neck. Your results will depend on the amount of skin you have in the area. You can try the Turkey Neck, Tongue Rolls and Lower Face reset exercises we have to target that area. Good luck!
In addition to the taping, I would recommend doing our “chin stretch” for the mentalis muscle as it will be a bit stronger for you. You can find that exercise/stretch here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bdkn9wRL6bM.html See if that helps. Since you are so young, your line may be more genetic, but I would absolutely try the stretches. Some gentle facial cupping going up and down across the line may help as well.
Don’t you have to fix it on the other side the following night? I’m afraid this can produce more assymetry? Does it matter which side I fix it on? Thanx!
I'm sorry I am not clear on your question. You would apply the tape to the top or bottom lip or both. I don’t recommend only doing one side of the face.
Also, if we are trying to work on a mimic wrinkle (like the 11’s), and we want to relax the muscle, we don’t want the tape to contract on a muscle we are trying to relax. Overused and tight muscles will cause mimic wrinkles so we want to keep it relaxed and stretched. If you don’t stretch the tape, the tape won’t constrict.
I have been taping for about 4 years now and I have my cosmetic patients taping as well as part of their holistic facial treatments. I hope you love it too!
I am in a habit of avoiding the thyroid in general when I do other holistic beauty treatments like cosmetic acupuncture, microneedling or microcurrent for safety reasons.
Is there some way you can combine this with jowl and/or marionette line taping? Thanks - I tried it for the first time last night and this morning I was amazed to see an enormous reduction in lip lines. Gradually over the day the lines re-emerged, but are not as deep. I'm thinking that if I stick with this, over time, the effect will be permanent? Hope so. Thanks again. It's wonderful to have this option.
Yes, you can absolutely combine tape and I highly recommend it. If you are going to do the nasolabial and marionette lines, do those first and then do the lips over that. If you are a side sleeper I would also add the cheek lift, but do that one first if you are going to do it. It is a great combo. The night taping will help the lip lines but because you tensing the lips throughout the day, the muscle around the lips will get tense as the day goes on, thus the wrinkles. Try and relax the lip area during the day and don’t purse your lips if possible, you can also do some gentle massage around the mouth to relax the area during the day. Taping works great at night because the tape is preventing the pursing of the lips so it is keeping the muscle in a relaxed state, but since you are still doing the movement during the day, the lines are coming back. Keep at it!
We recommend that you do nightly applications for a month and then apply a few times a week. I would also recommend some massage to keep the mentalis muscle relaxed.
You can certainly wear the tape during the day if you so choose. It can be a good way to make yourself aware of making the movements that are causing the wrinkle in the first place. It does look a bit odd though. But, night time is easy and will keep the muscles relaxed while you are sleeping, so you are not making the movements during the night.
Yes, it is a gentle version of kinesiology tape. Normal kinesiology tape adhesive is too harsh for the face, but there are a few brands we recommend that work great and are super gentle for the face. We are not affiliated with them, they just have great tape. They are Spider Tech's Gentle or Kinesio Gold Light Touch Tape which can be found online from Amazon etc. Please check out our video on Do's and Don'ts of facial Taping for more info.
We use either Spider Tech Gentle or Kinesio Gold Light Touch Tape from Amazon or do a Google search for a retailer near you. They are both super gentle and the only ones I ever recommend. Make sure to ONLY get one of the recommended types above as the Brands have many different tapes on their sites, great for the body but definitely not to be used on the face or neck. Regardless, I always recommend doing a test strip on your arm BEFORE you apply anything to your face, just to be sure. Simply place a small strip on the inside of your arm for 8 hours and see how you go with it before you apply to your face. Hope this helps.
