What? I don't have another front panel to test with but I unpluged the ribbon cable to see if it woud work. It didn't work. Anyone else have any luck with this method?
Yo! I thought it was the HDD, swapped out for an SSD and same, it kept rebooting at the BMW logo. I took it apart again and while tinkering I decided to test it disassembled and behold everything worked flawlessly, disconnecting the face plate fixed my issues too. I guess I got an SSD out of the investment, now it boots up faster. Your video did confirm my theory, thanks!
Just did this for my 2010 320i and it's working fine now! I haven't replaced the unit yet I just disconnected the ribbon cable until I find a replacement but it still works now. Awesome video thanks so much man.!
anyone got fix for flash and black screen? the ccc was fine but i tried to add apple carplay box in and I unplugged the CCC unit and when i took out gps/radio black blue cable the screen faded and never came back thanks
What! No way dude- I’ve been going down the rabbit hole with the same problems as you ! I can’t thank you enough for letting the people know to look outside the “ccc box” haha
@@sharpshenk3794 I looked into it but after getting it recoded to my car it would have been more expensive plus you risk the same thing happening again anyday. where the rebuilt motherboard has the weak points upgraded and i got a warranty so im happy
You don't need to recode it. Just get the one that looks like the one you have already and it will fit nicely and work perfectly without any coding. In case anyone else is facing similar choices.
@@sharpshenk3794 no how these work bud each unit is coded to the vehicle order. So unless you get it from the exact same spec car youll end up with options greyed out or no sound etc
Thanks for the public service announcement, I had same problem and bought a used ccc, that didn't work either then I found this video and pulled it apart and found the solder for the plug between the boards came right off, resoldered them and its fixed,, wish I had seen this video earlier in my search, saved me a right headache trying to diagnose it
Could you be more specific, was it obvious to see? I would be really curious to know because I'm about to repair this problem too. Any insight to what you soldered would be appreciated
@@percypig3358 there is something that connects some terminals of the top and the bottom PCB together, it clips in but the solder on the 8 feet that solders it to the board can come off and may need resoldering. Once you pull it apart you will know
I have a 2007 bmw 550i my ccc is acting up I'm pretty sure the screen keeps trying to boot then kicking off the part is 1500 dollars is there a way I can use a different face that doesn't match my old one
$1,500??? Man! Someone's trying to fleece you of your hard earned greens! You can swap out the front panel for far much less if that is the issue in your case. What's your location? If you are in my area, I could help you take a look at it.
My CCC was going very slow and I couldn't find the cause. The memory and eject buttons didn't work either. Watching your video I checked the data cable that connects to the front plate and it finally works correctly. Thanks a lot.
@@jeffgombosi6837 Your screen might be turned off. There is a setting for it, I don't remember how to get there on a blank screen but I think I or maybe someone else mentioned it here somewhere.
Excellent. I have a 2007 525i that is doing the same thing. I cannot find a replacement faceplate to save my life though! ALl the graveyards have their plates cracked or missing! But I want to upgrade (sic) to a cic anyway. great video though.
@@sharpshenk3794 I don't wanna go thru the hassle of soldering when I am going to replace the entire thing with a CIC/Android Auto afterwards anyway. But I might have to do it anyways because I can't find a cic for the e60, just the 390's.
@@kasparsmellups5835 remove the Top circuit board from the front panel. It has two connectors. One is the flat cable on the right, that is NOT the problem. The problem is the other connection between the two boards. I'll post a picture
@@mikexdijk Wich year car do u have, thanks for replay will wait for pic, my car was just standing still for few weeks, and now I decided to sell it, and the CCC doesn't work
I guess this should work. It's the same CCC on both cars. Like someone here suggested, you can take the front plate apart and check for loose contacts to resolder.
