Hi Katie So good to see your recent tutorials and amazing tips. I was part of your Live Transform your Art on Tuesday after which I immediately returned to my Paint with Confidence! I have also for the first time in 6 years painted freely and was for the first time happy as in joyful about my work. 😊 thank you so much for all your support and inspiration xx love from Claire😊😊
Recommended 100% and do NOT skip the first part and eagerly go to action, because as she says it's important to build a good mindset to be your most creative self 🎨! I sometimes just go back to these first lessons when I'm afraid or feel like I'm loosing my inspiration. I specially love the community forum, feedback, and support. But you can choose not to engage as well ;)
Yes absolutely! 👏🏻🤗 thanks for reiterating that - it’s so important! And I am sooo pleased you go back to the lessons when you feel like you need a boost too. Amazing 🥰 thanks so much for sharing!
What an amazing idea to do this open house for your course! It’s obvious that you pour your heart into this paint with confidence workshop! I did your workshop on Tuesday and I asked like 5 questions and you answered each and everyone of them. I really love your art and your style and have been wanting to join but couldn’t afford it but now that is on sale I can. And now that I saw the behind the scenes in this “open house” I’m really considering joining in the paint with confidence course for sure!
Aw thank you so much! I am very appreciative of you joining Tuesday and also watching this open house too. I’m really pleased it showed a bit more insight into the course. I really hope you can join us 🤗 if you have any questions please let me know!
What a pair of tossers . To be honest they sorta helped you , to move on and succeed on your own , but they are tossers . It says more about the gallery , really .
New subbie here 👋🏻. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. I’m a self taught (acrylic) painter. Thnx for your videos and insights. Excited to learn a thing or two and meet other artists and creative minds 😊
I have not approached an art gallery and I know of many people who discourage to do so. They (galleries) tend to be in it for the money and you end up with the short end of the stick. And as your experience shows…it’s all so subjective. People will be people with their own opinions. It says more about that person than it says about your art.
this is such a good demonstration!! you're absolutely right about it saving paint in the long run, though I'm quite stingy so I think I'd scrape the excess onto paper and use it as a background instead 🥰
Your work is lovely. If somrone does make a negative comment. You were blessed ny God. You have a wonderful gift. Cherish it. Half of those who are critics never touched a brush in their lives! Like I said believe in yourself. We all believe in you.
Love your style and way of teaching. One thing I have noticed is that you don’t seem to use a medium or water to blend with your paints. How w do you keep them fluid and not dry out? Is it that you work quickly?
Katie, how true your words are! Most of us creatives are so super sensitive to everything. Visuals, sound, light, darkness, smells, etc. But it's taken me so many years to finally figure out that sensitivity is what makes our art reach out to the passers by, some more then others, as you say. But I also agree 110%, that our urge to create is even stronger. Even if you only create for YOU. Great video Katie, and truly wise words to hear! Thank you.
I think there is this huge misconception that artists always love doing their craft and are always inspired and can just rely on their ‘talent’ for every piece. For those who think they suck or their work is terrible, then make a conscious decision and be determined to get better and enhance your skills. Everything is possible and you become what you behold and focus on. So if you’re constantly negative and believe you’re not good enough, you indeed will stay at that level. So turn it around, you are your own worst competition. So get out of your own way 😊.
