Salam .. why are the lectures by Shaykh Azhar Nasser are not showing in the playlist? Only Aamale Aashura. Please let us watch the lectures of 1st ashra.. Jazakum Allah khair 🙏
12:08 Remember, all of Deuteronomy is Musa's review of the Torah and the history of the Jews in the desert. The Jews to whom he is speaking were not involved in the sins of the generation in the desert! Those people had all passed away except for Joshua bin Nun and Caleb bin Yefufneh. There is a tradition that the generation that went into the Holy Land with Joshua was completely righteous. 13:26 Non-Jews go nuts over this. Chosen means tasked, not "superior". A child of Abraham is one who accepts the teachings of Abraham - not because he has Abraham's blood. But yes, it is a tension. God will punish the Jews when necessary. But, like a father - there is an eternal love that overcomes the anger and punishment. Through repentance the Jews can return to the proper guidance and conduct. But, there is absolutely no superiority over others. God created the world. It's like a construction project. Each professional - the masons, the plumbers, the electricians - everyone is critical to building this edifice. So too, the Jews were tasked with certain responsibilities. This is why Jews do not push conversion. There is no need. Everyone has their role in the divine plan. 22:14 The best thing a Muslim can do for a Jew is to encourage him to repent and return to the teachings of the Torah. 23:50 Wrong. The prophets were meant to assist Israel to repent - not the rest of the world. The only case where a prophet urges other nations to repent is Jonah, and at first he was reluctant to engage in this mission. There is a tradition that had the Jews remained righteous, the only books of the Bible would have been the Torah and the Book of Joshua. The Jews themselves are supposed to export Tawhid to the world - not the prophets per se. God sent the other nations their own prophets. 25:34 Goy means "nation." It became a slur only recently. Most Jews do not speak in a crass or derogatory way. Like every community, the rabble-rousers make the most noise, but are inconsequential. Gentile is not a derogatory word. 26:10 If the reference here is to more Orthodox Jews, this is not true either. It is not a matter of superiority. The imposed separation is out of caution, because the Jews know what happens when there is assimilation. All the wayward paths of the Jews were due to the influence of the Erev Rav. That is an extreme example. Nevertheless, a consequence of the diaspora has been that the Jews abandon Torah vis-à-vis assimilation. But, a truly observant Jew shows respect and kindness to all people. The great scholars and rabbis of the Jews, especially in the modern era - were known for their piety among non-Jews. An example that come to mind is of Rabbi Shmuel Heller who lived in Safed in the 19th century. The Arabs in the area would flock to him in droves for his free medical services and because of his kindness, attention, and care. The news and internet are full of videos, pictures, and weird narratives of Jews acting inappropriately. This is click/trigger bait. I am an Orthodox Jew. It is of utmost important to be kind and respectful to all of God's creatures. I love speaking with Muslims about religion, closeness to God, purity, and how to repent and refine our character (I do not like to talk about Israel, because then everything goes South). 27:04 There wasn't failure. It's also a part of the divine plan. Earlier in the lecture it was rightfully stated that the Jews were chosen through divine wisdom. Was it a mistake? The majority of Jews did not fail. Perhaps a minority in every generation fall, and worse- bring others down with them - but the Jews continue to thrive. Three generations after the Holocaust one of the biggest waves of repentance and seeking out true Torah living has occurred among namely assimilated, American Jews. And what is failure? We are given the opportunity to ALWAYS return, like a child who disobeys his father. Regardless of what he has done, the day he goes to his father and begs for forgiveness and commits to changing his ways - the father will not forgive him? The covenant IS an absolute. Just because the Muslims claim the Jews lost the chance means that is the case? Of course they say that! They have to say that, otherwise they have a tremendous theological quagmire. The same with the Christians. The Muslim and Christian faiths are built on this premise. The conditions apply to staying in the Land of Israel. But, as God's chosen people - no conditions. We are still the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That doesn't change. Your son and your daughter will always remain your children, right? 28:05 The Muslims call the Jews killers of Prophets. The entirety of the Jews did not kill prophets. These happenings as per the Bible were usually at the level of the aristocracy or among a minority of the Jews for unjustified and sinful political reasons. The Jews mourn the death of the prophets. These days are marked on the Jewish calendar as fast days even today. The Quran purports a great misunderstanding here.... 44:03 Again, the Muslims have to say this. The Torah was given to the Jews as a part of a covenant. That doesn't end. If I as a Jew were to keep only the Quran I would have to repent, because I would then be neglecting hundreds of commandments as per the Torah. Also, the final messenger was always Musa. The prophets never gave over new messages. They only reiterated what Musa said to remind and warn the Jews. Mohammed's message while in the spirit of the Torah, is completely different. Following the words of Mohammed would result in a Jew committing terrible transgressions (however, for Muslims to be devout and profess Tawhid is virtuous even in the eyes of the Torah and of the Jews. Muslims should be good Muslims. Jews should be good Jews.). 49:35 The Jews would agree with this too. Hence the Noahide Laws. God loves his creations and those who love him and believe ONLY in him (in this sense Christianity is a huge problem). 46:00 The Jews would agree with that.
Elijah was not a prophet, he wasn’t afraid of them killing him, his mission is to rescue prophets in the most difficult times, but he knew his death is on the hands of the real children of Israel that the Quran was addressing all the time in the Quran..the children of Israel were chosen because of 1 and only reason.. previous generations were introduced to Ahlul bay in general but the Israelites were introduced to them in details that's why they were chosen..please follow the ahadeeth of Ahlul bayt instead of the scholars
Elijah was not a prophet, he wasn’t afraid of them killing him, his mission is to rescue prophets in the most difficult times, but he knew his death will be on the hands of the real children of Israel that the Quran was addressing all the time in many verse which is the Islamic nation (none of us except he either killed or poisoned).the children of Israel were chosen because of 1 and only reason.. previous generations were introduced to Ahlul bayt in general but the Israelites were introduced to them in details (like the gate of hittah),that's why they were chosen..all the events lead to one point and that's the day of reappearance of the Imam, and what's going to happen on that day lead to one point which is the rajaa(the return) "the 50,000) years day..it is the day of our prophet return and his ruling on earth and that is the meaning of (the verses of istikhlaf..the promise of Allah to inherit the earth by His right servants
I recently came across these lectures- they're fantastic. Insha'Allah they will continue, because this is the type of guidance we need. Frankly I think after 1400 years of sectarian chatter we've said all that can be said - but youtube has become an ugly cesspit of bigoted sectarian debate between "intellectuals" with dubious credentials. What we need is this type of good quality guidance. Actual leadership and moral direction from the Qu'ran and the sunnah preserved by the Ahlul Bait and delivered by a sheik who is intelligent (Allah humma barak). Thanks to everyone involved and Al-hamdulliah
Social Unity is one thing but we can never have Religious unity with the Sunnis. True Unity is based on the Wilayat of Ahlulbayt (as) only. As brothers have mentioned in other comments, most of the hadith quoted have been mentioned in taqiyyah & not applicable to all circumstances. We know you love the Irani govt but are you also aware of the atrocities committed by Khamenei & Khomeini? So much killing & bloodshed against people plus the house arrests of Shia scholars. Is this normal?
He’s not a grand ayatollah. Calm down. And there’s plenty of corrupt scholars. Not saying he’s one of them, but you don’t Assume someone Can never be questioned just because they’re sitting on the pulpit. We have the right to call them out if they are neglecting certain important topics.
Very important speech to not be so arrogant and self righteous to others.....I have heard from Reliable sources that there was no excuse for Lady Zainabs (as) husband not to go to Karbala and he even tried to discourage Imam HUSAIN from going.....just because he's married to a Righteous Woman(as) doesn't make him as Righteous as her🧐
