Listening to the real thing again just recently I realized your guy’s rendition was so good that in my head cannon it was the real one. Fantastic job both of you.
finally decided to play this game after years of not giving 2D zelda a chance -- well, i suppose that's not true, because when I was very young I did try it... though I can't say I got too far. now i'm appreciating it for the first time, and i'm so grateful for this cover.
By God I've never expected the sounds of Cello perfectly fits this tune. Partially nightmarish, but first and foremost, beautiful. Well played on odds, thank you for the performance!! Loving it.
I was kid when I heard this for the first time in 1992. It was so magical. We waited two games to hear the original theme again, and when they hit us with it in the ending credits, and the way Koji Kondo revealed it after the amazing first half of the song, it was overwhelming and became my favorite song. It's difficult for covers to capture the first and second half of the melodies together with those integral notes right before the main theme, but you did it perfectly. Thank you.
Honestly, among every cover of this track that I've heard, including official remixes, this is one of the few that I feel really captures that really unique vibe of the original track.
Watching you using the bow, it looks like it isn't possible to play the long, sustained notes any louder without rebowing. Assuming the volume is mostly influenced by the speed of the bow. I have no idea about playing string instruments, does it work like that? Just started thinking about that, because the more quiet parts of those chords ,when you're bowing slowly, are often a bit too silent to hear in the mix.
i wouldnt know the first thing about playing cello, but i love how this FEELS perfectly controlled. i listen to this and i forget what the original even sounded like, its so smooth and masterful
