Amazing work guys, well done! I visited all the Star Wars sites in Tunisia in 2021-22 while researching my upcoming Bradt Travel Guide to Tunisia (1st Edition). The guidebook will be launched worldwide (including in Tunisia) in June 2023. Check out the Star Wars site playlist here on my channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1TrTN7IA0U0.html
It was done before in 2011 (11 Years ago!). But it seems this location has to be restored every 10 years... Unless they did an actuall full concrete build with steel structure.. Also my PC is as old as the first restoration lol. It always start to deteriorate from the bottom because this place actually has moisture. This isn't a very dry desert at all. So whenever it rains the moisture fucks up the base. I think they should REALLY do the next restoration with prefrabicated concrete parts and steel structure or something... The foundations are the most important thing about any building. This thing would really last a lot longer with THICK CONCRETE prefabs.
@@nugget6635 There definitely needs to be a more long term solution. This plywood/plaster of paris construction was only intended to last for the duration of filming, and so it's going to be an ongoing job for decades to come to preserve it in that form.
Hello, I want to use your video for educational purposes. I'm producing a video related to education, can I put it in the middle? I'll make sure to mark the source.
we should make an organization , to force the Tunisia Government to preserve and maintain the film location as world Heritage. Maybe we could organize a global Comic con there someday
@@phuel1 I apologize, I was an immature teen when I wrote that comment and I would like to take it back. I'm sure I'm not the intended audience for this video but I absolutely respect those who enjoy it.
Can you do 3D scan of each locations with video frames/pictures from every angle and upload them publicly? It would be a good way to preserve them digitally.
