I would like to visit if I am able to return perhaps in 2024. Although I do not practice the Orthodox faith my first active religious ‘best friend’ was Father Gerasim in the latter 1940s. We lived in Ouzinkie and he was at Monk’s Lagoon. My first memories are some of my best.

I became a convert to the church 20 years ago, unfortunately I have left for awhile because of personal reason, but have always believed in what the church teaches. I am trying to get back. This is the only church, I know in my heart to go back to. I will get back, God is calling me as he calls all his children. May God grant all of us Peace and TRUTH.😀 My first teacher Father Peter spoke of the Alaskan Orthodox Church with great reverence.
I love seeing the Alaskan Native kids both boys and girls enjoying their times on St. Herman's Russian Orthodox Cathedral. The Russian Orthodox Church on Kodiak Alaska was built for the Alaskan Natives with love and joy forever, god bless. I am from Novato, California and 200 years ago, our 15 year old Orthodox Alaskan native PETER THE ALEUT from Alaska to FORT ROSS become a Martyr of San Francisco by the Spanish Catholic priests who they forced Peter to renounce his Orthodox faith and convert to Roman Catholicism but PETER reused and the Catholics made him suffer to his tragic death, when St. Herman heard this tragedy he said, "HOLY NEW MARTYR PETER, PRAY TO GOD FOR US!" PETER will never be forgotten, I wish I had a time machine so I can go back to the year 1815, I would recuse PETER and return him safely to St. Herman in Alaska for safe protection and making sure PETER never leaves Kodiak Island again, because the early 19th century was hard times for the world. GOD MAKE ME SAVE PETER THE ALEUT'S LIFE FROM THE THREAT OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC MISSIONARIES. WE LOVE YOU PETER! God bless!
