Great content here-Coach Matt offers a unique perspective that’s been incredibly valuable for high school coaches. He combines modern coaching philosophies with practical insights and actionable advice. Between resources like Jamodi, Basketball Immersion, and Slapping Glass, there's a wealth of knowledge to draw from. Thanks, Matt, for all the hard work-you're making a bigger impact on high school coaches than you might realize. Keep it up!
I think a great question ( I'm actually just very curious) to add to the rapid fires is " Coach sitting down or standing up" .I'm a huge John Wooden fan and I noticed a lot of the time in games he was sitting rather than standing. I'm entering my 10th year coaching and I'm going to try and sit as often as I can to keep stress levels down and really I feel I think better in critical situations when I'm sitting. Id love to hear other coach's take on this.
Coach Frank is the epitome of a great coach. He's disciplined, fair, intelligent, and strategic. There's a reason his players would run through a wall for him. Keep up the great work coach!
They don't make em like Coach Fraschilla anymore. Extremely kind man, loving father, and a basketball guru! I had the pleasure of being coach by Fran at Texas Prep Camp many years ago.
Coach Wall was a really good assistant coach to have at Ranger Junior college. Really supportive for players, and not afraid to tell you when you're wrong.
we did 1.5 mi under 10 minutes, 1 mile under 6 minutes at Ranger JC, then I did 33 33's with only 33 seconds rest at Wayland Baptist. Coach Wall would get in the gym and shoot with us and teach us fun games to play. I do also remember our practice jerseys being wet and cold a few times... We played a match-up zone with Larry Brown that year at Ranger. I still couldn't tell you what we did on offense but by God, Antwan Scott would score for all of us.
I played for Coach G at Texas Prep Camp and Wayland Baptist. Had the time of my life playing basketball with such brilliant instruction and talent around me. Thanks Matt!
If only I had this podcast before my first day stepping on campus at Northlake this podcast is golden and is gonna give some people a huge head start no matter the level. Keep up the great work it’s very much appreciated!!!
@@jamodipodcast follow up question when you get a chance. What has been your experience with running a zone Press into a halfcourt 2-3 or 3-2 Zone? I'm trying to keep things simple for my guys
I played for Coach Hoffpauir at Georgetown almost 15 years ago and just stumbled upon this interview. Great listen. Have taken a lot of his lessons into adulthood.
I went to Texas Prep for 6 straight years in the summer to learn from Kenny, Barry, Matt, Fran etc... best week of the summer for any kid. These are great people.
There you go Coach! ❤ Awesome job! This was a very enlightening podcast with so many gems! Keep motivating and making a positive impact in the kiddos lives. (Go Cadets!)
