(Safety Spiel) Daniel Tiger: Hi, neighbors! Daniel Tiger here. For your safety, please be sure to stay seated with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the trolley, and watch your little ones. Thanks! Trolley, we're off to Neighborhood of Make-Believe! (Trolley dings)
I worked at the park in the summer of 86 at fascination which was located where the park offices are now. The Norris Family which owns the park are great people. The Waffles by the Bumper cars are tasty.
I always enjoy watching your walk-thru videos and have discovered several new parks thanks to you. Seabreeze looks especially charming. What I especially like about this video is that you take the time to stop and show the attractions. It really captures the atmosphere, especially for someone who hasn't been to the park yet. Thank you very much for your wonderful videos. Greetings from Germany 👋😊
O my goodness, I grew up in Conneaut Lake during the summer as a childern. My grandparents had rental cottages there. Special time in my youth. So much fun
Great video and narration. BG really is one of the most beautiful parks. So many tree and so much shade. I agree about the food. I’ve been going for years and the quality (and variety) of the food has definitely dropped. It’s Americanized versions of the food, and not even all that great quality. It’s the one aspect of the park that could use an overhaul.
Nice are you going to any more amusement parks before they close for the season also have you heard that Gillian’s wonderland pier in ocean city New Jersey is closing permanently in October?
I’m really disappointed that they Busch Gardens doesn’t have authentic European cuisine and to save money they do the Americanized version of the food. Why bother doing that when you have a park themed to Europe?
First of all , I mean NO disrespect to anyone with what I have to say . I believe it was a Conspiracy to have Conneaut Lake Park removed ! . Look at all the property that surrounds the Park . Then ask yourself Why ? Would you let Todd Joseph walk right in and literally destroy the Park , and all the memories that each and everyone of us cherish of the Park ? It makes no sense to me at all . The people that dedicated their lives and hard earned money to the park , And all the Fan's that enjoyed the Park for what it was . We understood things were worn out and a little dirty . But that was what we looked forward too. I admit , My heart will always be broken because of this ignorance and planned failure . So when Mr. Joseph places his Condominiums there . I am sure all of you will enjoy counting your money and NOT your Blessings ! Thank You for reading my thoughts , and may God Bless all of Us .
@@Robothut Right. But there’s no guarantee I’ll get them in time. I might try that anyway. [Update: I did order the screws online; I'll get them in a few days.]
Six Flags Great Adventure is my home park - only 20 mins from me but I really rather not go to Six Flags parks. I usually just do Dorney Park instead even though it's 2 hours away.. I went to the Six Flags in Atlanta GA last year, in June during a heatwave.. It was 110 degrees. And what did they do? SHUT OFF ALL THE WATER FOUNTAINS TO DRINK FROM SO YOU HAD TO BUY THE $10 WATER. I already didn't like them, but after that... forget it.
Great radio station 63 wpro am when it was music oldies. With your hosts Salty Brien and Elliott Abrams. I miss Lincoln Park. It's now low income homes.
My boyfriend and I just went there this past weekend & we really had a great time it had been many years since we had been there. I was really curious to see changes. This is a great park for scaredy-cat types to begin their amusement park journey. I feel IB is middle school & Cedar Point is gradation. I ❤ both parks total apples & oranges, but they r both awesome.🎉🎉🎉
Not sure I agree that the short problem is solved. I think you have a workaround. Cardboard insulators on a outside layout does not sound like a great Idea in the long run. Making new ties or just the insulators does sound like a good project to work towards over time. The other option is to move away from powered track and go battery and remote control.
Others have suggested battery power, but I'd rather solve this problem once and for all and stick with a powered rail. I have the silicone strips coming in pretty soon and I'll see how that works out. I've figured out a system to speed up the insulator replacement, so it might not be that difficult a job.
@@jayducharme Next you need to build a custom track cleaner car to keep the electrical connection to the wheels work well. My Dad had to build one for his garden rail rood.
@@Robothut I'm hoping the NoOx on the track holds up. It both prevents oxidation and increases electrical conductivity. A few coats of that a year should keep things running well. 🤞
So, I’m not sure if you’ve been on The Comet over the past few weeks? They definitely made a few repairs and cleaned the track up a bit. It is running amazingly.
Honestly I could see six flags/ ceder fair selling this park, from what I can by Google maps, it's only a 30-40 minute drive from Buffalo. But six flags itself doesn't really care for this park, and Darian itself seems really nothing at all, I'm not sure if it's even a whole town? I think it's going to get sold off to another company.
I hope it doesn’t get closed by the new corporation. It’s relatively close to both Great Escape and Cedar Point, so I’m not sure how they’re going to deal with it.
It does somewhat annoy me that PVTA doesn't service six flags New England, but CDTA does service Great escape. Sorry I'm a transit guy, won't call myself an advocate, but I pay attention to these things. Nashua NH bus system doesn't service Canobie like, or Manchester's system even though they go to Salem for the residents to go shopping. New England doesn't like amusement parks and public transit for whatever the reason may be.
@@jayducharmeI wish we could go back to that time, I can't drive and have to wait for family to take me to Canobie lake park, would love for the MBTA to have a express bus there. Boston Express gets close at a park and ride, but it's also $22 one-way, on top of a Uber price tag.
Hey Jay. Fabulous job. Loved the fun facts, especially cool to hear that they had been stashing things away over the years. We move to the Saratoga area in 1982, so this was a regular summer outing in my teens (Mountain Park was the summer outing prior to that). A couple things: Yes, it was Goldilocks and the 3 bears as you surmised, but back in Charlie's days, the 3 bears were live baby bears, that could be viewed in a pit from the top of the hill behind the Giant Elephant. Also, the Pink Whale used to be next to the church that was removed when kiddie area expanded. I remember being a little sad it was gone, because that was such a nice area down by the stream. Honestly don't recall it being moved, just gone, so I was glad to see it in your walkthrough. I was surprised by how low the crowds were. Walk on for the Comet with 2 trains running. My younger self would have been there all day. Was it still early when you did the walk though? It could also be that everyone was in the waterparks. It's been pretty hot and humid this summer. Anyway, Thanks for another great walkthrough!
I remember those live bear cubs! They were still there when we first went to the park. I think the reason that park attendance was light is that there were severe thunderstorms forecast for that day. Fortunately for us, the storms held off until the evening.
Nice again..so glad Gene Staples makes it moving their parks forward...the merger with Cedar Fair...it be like going to McDonalds in a few years, sad..
Just to clarify, Mind Eraser is getting a refurbishment and should be back open by next year. Otherwise......yeah.......compared to your previous walkthrough........not good. Hopefully now that Six Flags is under new management they'll fix things right.
This is definitely the best ever park for our local community. ❤😂🎉. I'm definitely glad to see that you enjoy this a lot. Especially the Comet. I've gone down to Six Flags New Jersey and got on Kingda Ka four times on June 1st of this year.
I truly miss the days where the steamin’ demon was orange with yellow supports (this is probably prior to the millennium 😂). Thanks for doing this walkthrough, I sadly haven’t been back to my hometown park since 2008. Amazing memories 🥹
