Dr. Dorothy (Doe) Buchli is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology department of Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). She teaches a variety of courses including Introductory Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics I, History and Systems, Introduction to Disability Studies, and Introduction to Self and Others. As a cognitive psychologist, her research interests include learning, memory, executive control, and embodied cognition. She has published articles and book chapters in the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, Memory, and the Psychology of Learning and Motivation. As a disability studies scholar, she is interested in how historical events like the polio epidemics of the 20th century and the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act influenced how affected individuals come to "claim" disability.
