Loved playing with you Jackie back in the mid 90’s, Tompkins Square Park, West 4th… I used your shooting drills back in the days… at 43 I’m still using your shooting drills.
Wow that was a long time ago. Used to love going to Tompkins Square, Park with my cousin Jimmy we would win most of the time. Good guys good competition🏀🏀 Thanks for the kind words!
@@hoopwizard I tell everyone I can what a privilege it was to play with you and against you, 1994-99… 5 on 5 side or 3 on 3 courts by the softball field, amongst the thousands of guys you played with, you def can’t remember all of us, but we remember you lol jump shot from heaven! Thank you for great memories on the court, wishing you the best brother
I think you scored more in 1:30mins than I did in my last video upload 😅 I couldn’t comment on your latest video “Shots Fired” I dig the sound effect and wanted to send you Mike Breen’s “That’s a 3 BANG” sound byte if you’re Inter in it 👍🏼 Live your passion for the game. I’m 42 and also was never able to play organized “team basketball” I prefer the freedom of just playing for fun and doing your own thing. I look up to you Sir Jack. Thank you for your content and for allowing the world to know your story.
It's sad that the same old crotchety puritans of basketball treated him the same way they treated Maravich. Like the Pistol, he was ahead of his time. This a fantastic confidence building, fundamental guide for any wannabe great shooter.
i grew up watching you!!! i used to play at a junior college and this past year I got to coach at the college level, I was blessed to get to play with the And 1 streetball guys when I was 19, and id love to get some runs in with the legend blackjack Ryan !! If you're reading this jack, I love to play and would love to come to new york and get some runs in if you still hoop around ! next week I'm going to 16th street courts in north Philly to play in this game. Thanks for inspiring me
Thanks Ethan! Where did you see me? If you’re ever in NYC hit me up we can meet at a Court. Thank you for the kind words. Yep I still play three or four times a week
@@hoopwizard I remember watching your shootout videos back in 2008 and then with the Harlem wizards!! Growing up I looked up to the streetball guys and that's where I found the love of the game!!! I currently live in Pittsburgh but in august, ill come to new york, I've always wanted to hoop around new york city. I remember watching Bobbito Garcias one new york park documentary, Its been a big dream of mine to do this so I think it's time to make this a reality!! I'll hit you up, I appreciate you taking the time to message me back. I'll see you in august look forward to meeting you ! stay blessed
Jackie, I just watched your story, after I wondered what ever happened to you since your Nets tryout. I googled your name & wallah. I use to play in the B-Ball league at the Shorefront Y (Remember Blitz). Our team happen to be better then the team you joined late in the season. You pushed that team into the playoffs & into the finals. We didn't quite make the playoffs. I will never forget the show you put on in the 2 games of the finals. You must of scored 50 a game. It was a best of 3 series, series split & you had to leave to Oregon or Oklahoma (Somewhere west) before game 3. That team had to play without you in game 3, they lost by like 40. I also played some hoops in some of your old haunts Manhattan Beach & West 4 (Haha, on Sundays had some nice run, BEFORE 11 am, when the big boys would show & the teams were stacked). I could have sworn I played a pickup game against you at Dyker Park too, if my memory serves right, you brought a girl with you who can ball. I never realized you had a problem as you seemed like a happy go lucky Chipendales hoop star. I am very happy that you got your life together & became a bigger success story. I must of seen you at half time shows over the years, I never realized they called you Blackjack Ryan, I only remembered you as Jackie, the white legend. God Blessed you.
