Well, i can't actually think of a scenario where i would need to do this. I always strip the barbs off & just terminate it. But this sure looks cool 😎 & i will remember it if i should ever need it i reckon.
He said at start and halfway through the video, its to try keep the staples from loosening and to try keep battons from sliding, in a straight line theres no resistance between staples and wires
Great proficiency, this blokes really knows how to tie knots. However, it's terrible to learn from. To improve this video as a teaching tool the demonstrator should break down each twist and step and show it slowly. That means blokes like me who want to learn to tie this knot proficiently can follow it detail.

All these staplers put the staple in perpendicular, when anyone who does fencing for real knows the staple has to be at an angle so the legs are not in the same grain.
