It’s worth knowing that if you’re buying some kind of smart product and hope to put other controls on it than the one that comes with I would worth checking before purchase also ensure this circuit breaker will function if it’s being held by the smart device part
Yes with this there are a lot of other regulations that verry by country when it comes to mains voltage and controls therefore I have not made any video or other information. Here in South Africa only qualified electricians are allowed to install/change breakers and provide a COC on completion. holding them liable for that install, if something goes wrong. this means that a lot of them does not even consider to install these types of devices.
@@AverageAutomation if you do want smart home type stuff having them install contact us connected up to something like a raspberry pie controlling then maybe an option as they should know what a contactor is and you could genuinely do the low voltage controlled circuit depending on your country and what they say about it
Please be careful when removing security options from your demos. Isn't it better to understand and explain how an option like API keys work rather than cut them out and add risk to your project? Others will follow your example without learning
Thanks a lot worth full info. I was thinking to do the same , out sourcing the automation to esp32. Can the other entities from the home assistance readable in the esp32 and add more conditions and stuffs like that ?
@aravindsn Hey yes you can read infro from other sensors in esphome I was working on a alarm panel thing that reads the status and provide the info on a display however at the speed I am going from one project to another its part of the pile now haha.
Hi late to the party (by 3 years) if the DVR supports OnVif do I need IP cameras or will my old cameras (bnc connection to the DVR) show up in home assistant. Thanks for the video BTW
Hey I am not sure I have not run into this issue before you could also test using a new account on git to see if you are still running into the same issue.
Hey this was part of my older videos however with the interface and a lot of changes in HA I don't think you can set this up anymore I will take a look and see if it still is possible.
Glad it was helpful! The background is I this one stock.adobe.com/za/images/modern-control-room-multiple-personal-computer-monitors-showing-coding-language-program-with-system-monitoring-interface/555664807
Excellent videos I remember around four years ago when I watched your first PIR and contact sensors video that's when I subscribed and I still reference that video thank you again
Hi, i have similar relay with 8 channels, but my relay doesn't seem to power off the monitor, the light turns on and off but power remains on. Also the click sound has got soft/low, I tried connecting the monitor to another perfectly working relay but that relay also got this same disease, now i have two relays damaged. Do you you know what might be causing this? Have you got similar failures ? If there's some fix available?
Hey in most cases this happed because the esp can not supply the voltage required to power/trigger the relays i would recommend for any tipe of long term use to always use a seperate 5v power supply to power the relays and then bridge the ground with the esp ground do not power the esp with 5v as this would blow the chip
Video might be a bit outdated. I followed your instructions but cannot get it to work. Copied the required text to my config.yaml file but noting happening. Can you maybe help me out?
Hey mine is still working however I think milight has changed a lot since this video and are using newer technology/protocols. These were my first set of smart lights ever. They use a external hub to control.
The Author of this add-on has passed away, and has been removed from HACS due to a breaking change. I have forked the repo and applied a fix, and added more animated backgrounds github /TRusselo/lovelace-animated-background
you such a Dick you waste almost 7 minutes while talking about useless things so shut your mouth and just do focus on coding and by the way Dislike 👎🏻 from me to you for your stupid guidance
Excellent! My one regret (this isn't a knock): Too bad you didn't also show how to add a way to turn on the relay under certain temperature/humidity conditions. "if temperature > 95 then RelayOn" Would've been even more perfect.
Thanks so much dude. excellent video, short, to the point and very well explained. I've just installed Home Assistant on my NAS now I've upgraded to something a bit more powerful that can run multiple things, such as Jellyfin, and multiple containers, CCTV recording, plus cope with video file transfers. I've had EasyBulbs (comes under the LimitlessLED umbrella) for years, maybe 8 years, and the Mi-Light phone app does it's job but always wanted to integrate them eventually, was a little worried given they came on the market way before smart home kicked off. I'm a total novice with Home Assistant, right now, no idea what I'm doing haha, and the YML config was a little overwhelming, but I've done web design in the past and some Raspberry Pi stuff, so the hierarchy thing isn't so complicated once you understand what each part does, your explanation certainly helped. Will give you a follow, I'm sure you've got plenty of other videos that'll point my in the right direction.
I know this is over a year old but ive been away for some time. Not sure if the sound has improved on the newer videos . Making videos at 1am normally a issue haha.
