Im going to have to disagree. Much of the recent research has proven that not only is locking your knees out no more dangerous (unless you have hyper flexibility of the knees, which is rare), over a year, the full ROM is far more hypertrophic than keeping constant tension in this case, as you are not fully contracting your muscles. Also, keeping constant tension causes lactate to build up, reducing the ability to fully stretch and contract the muscle over multiple reps. Harvard Medical Journal has some really good and interesting articles and peer-reviewed data done by doctors of sports and exercise science on these studies. I highly recommend them.
