A two ztime Champ, #1 Overall pick in 2016, and you're just now asking if she is the face of the WNBA? Who do we compare her face to? Caitlin Clark? Who would you say is the face of the WNBA? I would argue it's all the draft picks this 2024 Class! Caitlin, Reese, Brink, Johnson, Martin, and any player drafted this season! Sure Taurasi, Aja, Stewart, Griner, Plum had built the foundation, but they're just not the face you're referring to.
I think he recognizes the NBA for the bubble that it is. Things are headed in a very unsustainable direction. We talking marquee players making over a million a game who might play or might not play and nose-bleed tickets approaching $100 to see the Charlotte Hornets on a random Tuesday. At some point these networks are gonna get caught holding the bag, the demand and revenue isnt going to be there to hold it all up, there will be lockouts and those valuations will plummet.
