Hello, I own a g30 too and I have a problem with the front headlights. They look like the cover glass is broken in small small pieces like a spider web. What can I do to fix this problem ? Thank you
@@FullBoltOnGarage so that’ll be on the passenger side right? I’m asking because I had a coolant leak on the driver’s side. It turned out to be the expansion tank which I replaced. During the process I did a mess in the engine bay with coolant spilling everywhere lol. I still get a few drops in the front of the bumper on the drivers side. I checked all the hoses and the expansion tank and everything is dry so I really don’t understand where that’s coming from. Might be some residue from all the coolant spilled? It’s right under the fog light/grill on the drivers side
Yess!! This is normal after a coolant tank failure. There's a pocket where the undercarriage is. It's located directly in the path of the coolant tank downwards. It usually makes a little puddle and slowly seeps out. Tap the undercarriage directly in front of the driver wheel, and I'll bet more coolant will come out.
I'm a novice at car repairs, let alone BMWs but this video helped me get this repair done successfully. If you have this problem with your G30 this is the video for you. Thank you for posting!
Maybe I'm a little bit late to the party, but you no longer have the kits on your website... Can anyone else point me in the right direction to get a kit like this so I can do this for myself, please and thank you! Awesome video by the way, keep up the great work.
Hello! Everything works now but now there is a slight difference in the light of the headlight. It shines a little less than the other. Do you know how to fix it ? Thanks
This is class! I don’t even have this card but this is class. This looks awesome. I have a 2020 50-50 and when it does age, I hope they have something like this for me too.
@areeb4939 I got rid of the light but there's still a code related to the shutter. There's so many codes for the shutter but only certain ones will cause the cel. I ended up cutting off all the shutter including the frame of it, except the first shutter. I trimmed the plastic from every side to make the shutter assembly as small as possible while still permitting the first slat to open and close via the motor. I then zip tied it out the way! I later had a actuator motor cable extension made so I could further move it out the way, behind the radar for the cruise control.
When you mention "might have to code it" what exactly would you have to code? I have MyBMW installed and can communicate with the BMW (F23). I have given MyBMW app permissions of Enable Nearby Devices. I start the car, connect to the iDrive 6 via bluetooth and can see it is connected to the BMW. I login to MyBMW. I open AAiDrive and nothing happens. Is there another step I'm missing? You mentioned you may have to code something - I have BIMMERCODE and OBD device. Is there some other setting that needs to be adjusted? Thanks for all the help.
Im at 96k miles. First started getting symptoms at around 90k miles but I threw it off to the new wheels I had gotten so never took a look at it driving around like that with multiple launches took its toll on this and also my center support bearing hoping getting both of these replaced helps mitigate the nasty vibration I get at 80ish mph when I have my lightweight wheels on.
I have a question to the one who posted this. First the fix, you created, was genius. It's amazing to think that German engineers wouldn't advise this to their mechanics as a method of fixing the DTRL Ribbon with a simple new module purchase which is significantly cheaper then the entire new light. But here is my question on the matter of the new module purchase and installation. It requires coding from BMW. Our lights are super complicated and do all sorts of things. What did you do after the installation to A) eliminate the notification/warning issues and B) How did you program the module specifically? Thanks
Hey i was wondering how they are holding up today? Had the same issue on both sides on the inner DRLs. I replaced both modules and they were sanded down as well. However, i see on other posts and 1 or 2 people in these comments that say it went bad again. Just trying to get an idea of how long this will last me. So far they have been good but its only been a month since the replacement on one side and about a week on the other. Im pretty sure they are going to go bad again .. hope not but if they do im trying to find a decent aftermarket option for the entire assembly
Man I have this exact issue I’m definitely gonna fix it. Dealership wanted to run that tab up thru the roof. You saving ppl one person at a time. Thanks 🙏🏽
My G30 doesn't have a rear camera, so is it possible to install it or 360° even better? In Europe neither one official BMW service center doesn't want to do it. Btw thanks to you I upgraded my rear lights.
Hey bud thank you so much for your videos. My car is only 2 years old but I love all the DIY content you put out. Would you be inclined to make a video about the cup holder cover? How to remove, clean/replace? Mine is constantly getting stuck. AS well why are there 2 sides to each cable? Can you connect them together and only have to run one side? Thanks.
What is the name of the line you replaced that connects to the front of the expansion tank and top of the radiator? The one you referred to as fragile. Mine was really brittle and broke and now I need to replace it.
I did this on my Audi about 4 years ago. It's pretty much the exact same process. Except I didn't have to take off the bumper. I had to remove 7 or 8 screws up top and that was about it. Currently shopping for a G30 550i and came across this video. Good stuff bro!!!
