It is online; not an application (great for slow computers, which our robotics team has a lot of). I am part of FRC Team 2220 (the team Nick is also on). We use Onshape because it is free for FIRST Robotic Competition Teams (through an education/student account).
I use OBS studio for the recording and Carnac for the keystroke and click displays. I do the videos straight shot without editing so I don't use anything for that.
hey nick, you mentioned in another video you would consider doing a video on configurations specifically for frc. just wanted to say I would love to see that. just went into onshapes learning center and for some reason the configurations section doesn't seem to want to work for me at the moment. I'm sure It will work soon, but i know i would also love the extra info on FRC specific stuff. so if you do get the time I'll be the first to watch.
hey man, i really appreciate these videos. i have almost zero real world cad and design experience and am trying to take on the role of cad mentor for our team this season because we dont have a mentor with any experience besides me. and no students with any experience either. so this whole series is really helping me out. super appreciated.
It is one of Julia's featurescripts. You can find them all in this document: cad.onshape.com/documents/95c00401c440b44ad8799ef5/v/64128af5a3736981f4b99d00/e/80b86b695b75c4dcf2be5a7f?jumpToIndex=447&showReturnToWorkspaceLink=true
Hi, that configurable model is from the MKCAD parts library. MKCAD has a ton of useful parts and configurable assemblies that I very much recommend taking advantage of. You can find it here: cad.onshape.com/documents/f895084b6f1942fd88e4e61f/w/9d985864526d982f3e6c3a26/e/79e19fb7f26824b3d2e89b6d
