Hello there young grasshopper! My name is Johnny, your local Chinese American college student. I make videos about my life here in Hawaii. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show homeslice.
Hi! I’ve been looking into going to UH Manoa for a while buuuuut. Have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to looking to colleges and all the schools I look to go to are far from home. I’m from Massachusetts 😅. This was wicked helpful, especially for getting a bit of a feel for the university’s vibes. Thank you:)
Hey man, you really killed it in this one, my girlfriend is moving into college in just a week and we are watching and researching. Well put together video man great job.
Thank you Johnny. This is so wholesome. I will be the first one in the family to be applying to college and I didn't even know what a major or minor is and all those other college words. It is all very confusing as my parents have no knowledge of this.
Your video showed up in my recommended, and I was trying to figure out where I recognized you--then I saw the Theatre syllabus--props for the awesome and informative video!
Yups theres the campus center food court, and paradise palms food court. Theres also a bunch of food trucks scattered around campus. If you're dorming or plan on using meal points theres Gateway Café, which probably has the best selection of food.
Thanks for this short & sweet video :) even if I’m just going into HS...UH has been my dream school for a while, I’ll probably be coming back to this vid every year until I achieve my goal :))
Hi, I really liked your video on this because I’m thinking about applying next fall. I just wanted to know how the student aid is and how you’re funding your college career. Oh and do you live on or off campus? Thank you so much if you reply :)
Hi! So financial aid is paying the majority of my tuition, I pay about $1500 a year as a resident after aid, I also did get a small scholarship. Currently I live with my parents, although I would love to dorm if I could afford it.
I'm not too familiar with the marine biology program, but given that we are on an island I'd imagine that it's hands on. Waikiki beach is about a 15 min drive from campus, if you want to go to a nicer beach like Waimanalo it's gonna be about 40 minutes.
This is my last year of high school 😅 I really would love to attend UH Manoa. I’m looking for scholarships galore to cover that out of state tuition if I get accepted
You could also maybe take a gap year and in that year live in Hawaii? This would help get you settled, and would allow you to have the instate tuition :)
I don’t know if your answer questions anymore on this. But do they have a good computer programming class if any at all? And is the marine biologist program good?
@@JohnnyLum69 I didn't realize the tuition costs when I wrote this haha... Does not look like I will be going there but maybe I will live in Hawaii in the future!
