www.vocatrix.com “Although small in stature, humanity is powerful in the power of its soul. Its head is turned upward and its feet to the solid ground, and it can place into motion both the higher and the lower things. Whatever it does with its deeds in the right or the left hand permeates the universe, because in the power of its inner humanity it has the potential to accomplish such things. Just as, for example, the body of a human being exceeds in size the heart, so also are the powers of the soul more powerful than those of the body. Just as the heart of a human being rests hidden within the body, so also is the body surrounded by the powers of the soul since these powers extend over the entire globe...it is God whom human beings know in every creature.”

Wonderful performance! I just wish that the video had been edited with the supertitles so viewers could follow along with the text. That would make the communication of Hildegard's message even more powerful for us. Thank you for sharing!
It is very difficult to listen interestingly, but these actors do look as if they are paying attention to each other and reacting. They also convey a moving sense of love and mutual support.
Que belleza!!! Que voces!!! Felicitaciones!!! De verdad logran transportar. Hildegarda, una de mis Santas favoritas. Gracias por esta belleza de presentación. Bendiciones 🙏.
Beautiful work. Just regarding the description - I think it's deceiving to characterise the social dynamics as "opposition" between men and women at the time. I'm sure if you went back and asked Saint Hildegard whether she was "opposing men" she would completely reject that statement. Not only would she claim that anyone doing the work of God is not in opposition to one another, but I think if we're being realistic she'd also claim that the natural order of society stemmed towards females being child-bearers and that that was actually a good thing for many reasons. I think also she would recognise herself as an outlier - and if that is something that bothered her she would have mentioned it in her writings... but she didn't and if she wished for the perpetuation of a Christian society, would have encouraged women to submit to traditional gender roles just as men should. This modern interpretation that men and women must necessarily be "in competition" with one another due to their vocations rather than "compliment" one another is contrary to the general beliefs of ages past (and with doctrines expressed in the Bible that Hildegard would embrace) and so it's misleading especially in this age that pits men and women against each other so often.
More then proud of this, exactly how hildegard wanted it to be. C'est un travail si profound avec tant d'elegance quoi mieux pour présenter telle femme que je considère une de mes personnages historiques préféré, merci🥺
I found a full English translation of this here: www.healthyhildegard.com/ordo-virtutum-text-translation/ It's a little hard to follow because a couple of singers represent two virtues instead of one, but it helps.
Wow. Such depth in such simplicity. Wow. When I'm not hearing it, I'll think Hildegard, yes, good stuff, but when I'm immersed in it, just wow. And an intense performance.
Wonderful! Great job! I have created 2 videos about life and music of Hildegard von Bingen. The Videos are in Italian with subtitles in English and Spanish. Here the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vDodFEHK17s.html
LazlosPlane Those were on the screens at sides of the audience. It would be wonderful if they could re-release the video with those lyrics/translations included!
