Shorter is one of my favorite character in all time. I don't know why but I fell in love with since the first time I saw him. He's so lovely and attached to Ash. He trust and love him. And I love their relationship. Even if Ash try to keep Shorter over his problems, Shorter know him and fight for him, and die for him because he can't see him suffer because of him. He's the best boy.
