The brand should've stayed at NOM 1146 for unquestioned quality. Enrique Fonseca is a master at aging and the man behing the XA you're enjoying. This brand is a NOM hopper, for sure. You may not appreciate the joke, but the bottle screams sex toy.

Very low tier watered down entry mezcal. In the US, no agave distillate can be sold below 40 abv. In Mexico, their higher the abv, the higher the tax. It seems the bottle does not even had the comercam or amma certification. Shady brand with no depth.
try the repo it is fermented from 100% agave. maybe that will be better. the blanco is a mixto, 70% fermented agave and 30% fermented from piloncillo (a derivative of cane sugar). Maybe that is the cause of your headache. Even so the blanco is pretty good for what you get. The lower end mixtos from Cuervo and Sauza are 51% agave and 49% sugar (and probably not piloncillo)
There's a lot of great mezcal out there and I'd recommend trying anything and everything. Also, if you haven't already, search for my other mezcal reviews to see if there's anything that speaks to you when I describe it.
I am surprised that you said it might be from a Diffuser because when it comes to horrible products you really don’t like to say that it has additives or day that it is bad.
Idk i changed from tequila to Mezcal but recently when i had patron it was always good but i noticed recently i get a bitterness towards the end which i never got before which makes me think they are harvesting the agave early to keep up with demand which is a no go for me but i do give patron credit for becoming the first luxury tequila because before patron the tequilas shipped to the USA from Mexico was absolute trash lol
It's not bad for what it is. On ice with soda water it's decent. Are better ones out there? Yes. El Jimador much better but many other good brands of tequila at least in Canada is way over priced. Before Covid good tequila was priced reasonable now it's a joke most 750ml bottles are 50 plus dollars.
Thank you for sharing. $50+ for this is terrible but I understand many places in the world don't have access to high quality tequila and you get what you get unfortunately. I encourage you to watch my other videos to find something great to be on the lookout for close by or if you have a chance to ever travel to the states.
How is this compared to Siete Leguas anejo and Artenom 1146? Those are the only other anejos I've tried so far. I'm very new to tequila. El Tequileño gran reserva anejo is gonna be my next purchase.
I'm new to agave spirits but really going down the rabbit hole, as I tend to do. I have seen these bottles on the shelf and wrote it off thinking it was probably subpar. Now I want a bottle. Thanks for the review!
There's a lot of great stuff out there for $65 or less.. If you ever see the brands Banhez, Bozal, or La Luna, all three are solid and about half the price
To me in my experience all Espadin tastes exactly the same. And the quality dose not matter at all, it could be industrial or artesanal it’s the same. Now I have not tried an ancestral version, maybe that one is different
Ingredients matter for sure and production methods affect taste. If you never have, try some real high quality stuff next to cheap industrialized stuff side by side to see if you can notice anything different.
Possibly the lower abv is the reason why those flavors dissipate quickly 🤷♂️. Maybe if it was a mid 40s to upper 40s abv it could have much more robust flavors
Sammy Hagar is not involved with Cabo Wabo tequila now He sold it years ago and it is not as good as it was when he owned it He signed a non compete agreement to not make tequila for I think 10 years When that expired he partnered with Guy Fierri and they started Santo Fino
Diffuser tequila is never ever close to good. Tequilena 70% mixto is way better than El Jimador. The $30/a handle San Matias Legado Blanco is cheaper and way better than El Jimador.
Brought 2 bottles of Luna Cupreata (now black label) on my honeymoon to Bali as Indo is very limited in finding most agave spirits. Sipped by the pool post surf it was groovy ✌️
Well I bought a bottle of this when I was on a trip and out of curiosity I found your video and I always do my research to appreciate what I’m drinking and to see what others are thinking. Well I think you’re spot on I don’t taste enough agave notes, soapy actually is a good way to describe it I most likely will not be buying another bottle but at the price I can’t complain nobody else has an Anejo at this price.
The absolute worst bottle I have ever bought. Poured 1/2 down the drain. Yes I love high proofs. So bad I won’t buy another bottle from them. Was like burnt rubber and tested vs Plata 48
Sweet baby Jesus this crap tastes like peppered Behr Premium Plus. To the toilet with this one. It wasn't just a one-off impression either. The other three people said it tasted like paint.
@@AgaveTalk Yeah, this happened to be my first experience with mezcal. I'm a whisky/bourbon/scotch and rum person. I do like a good anejo tequila though. I'll look through your reviews for some ideas to try.
Sorry to hear this was your first mezcal and I can see how you'd be turned off for sure. For something easy sipping that won't break the bank try 400 conejos, Ilegal, Banhez, and/or Bozal cuishe if wanting to take it to the next level
