Hey. This was a great tutorial and has worked in my planning but not when I preview. It reverts back to another font when I hit preview. Could this be a problem with my font? It is an uploaded font, not a Google font. Any help is appreciated :)
@@KirstyUssher Hey Kirsty, make sure that the font name is correct. How I usually test this is to use the Chrome inspect tool on another element on the page that has the font I am trying to replicate and then see what the CSS font name is associated with that and copy it exactly. Sometimes it slightly varies from what you think it’s called, even just with spacing, so tweaking usually fixes the issue.
@@theKdesignco Thank you. I realised my issue was that I didn't have the font used anywhere else on the page, so it couldn't recognise it. I fixed it :)
Hi there! When i do my marque the text starts in the middle of the screen before moving over to slide across the page. Do you have any idea how to fix this? I did exactly what you did :(
Hi there, I don't know if you'll see this but thank you so much for the tutorial! I have it all figured out except that my menus are being hidden behind the next canvas! I tried adjusting the stacking order but nothing I'm trying is allowing them to be seen full. Any advice for what I might be missing? Thanks so much!
Hi! A couple of thoughts… Is your header canvas set as stick to top? Sometimes you have to adjust the stacking order settings at both the site canvas level (before you actually can click to edit any text) and at the canvas level (where the text is editable)
hey! the problem im having is that its not showing up once i hit publish/preview :( btw your website is stunning! i need help making tweaks to make my site standout a little more.
Hi Krisitn, Another idea has popped in for the Showit tutorial: How do you combine uppercase, lowercase, and italics in the same sentence for a heading? Do you need CSS for this? Or is there another way around this? Norfolk has a video tutorial, but it's not that easy to understand. They don't really explain how to distinguish uppercase, lowercase, and italics in the same line.
It depends what fonts you are using. If you are using a Google font that has regular and italic styles and they are both added to your site in your design settings, you can create this effect using basic text formatting in one text box. If you are using a custom font, you will need CSS to style the different parts of your text. I can definite make a tutorial on this too.
Hey Cecilia, just wanted to let you know we created a new video tutorial for how to combine text styles / fonts if you haven’t already seen it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-301fapa4PKI.html
To my knowledge they haven’t because I still have buy buttons on my own site, but they have rolled out a new checkout option so if you have recently purchased your account, the setup may look different than this. I’ll look into it and create an updated video if needed :)
If you have a up that's an option for people to opt into your email list , they input their emails and click sign up --- how do you link it to automatically add people to your mail chimp list?
You will have to embed a form from your mailchimp account into the pop-up design. Here is a guide on how you can get your form code: mailchimp.com/help/add-a-signup-form-to-your-website/
great your channel, it helps me a lot 🤩🙌🏼. I would like to present a page of a site in mockup on an ipad, and I would like that on hover the photo of the site scrolls upwards. I tried a lot of code but I must be doing it wrong. thanks for your help 🙏🏼😊
The Showit contact form message will go to the email address associated with the Showit account the site is built with. You won’t be able to test the form then until you move the site to your client’s using the share key.
Hi Michelle, you can add the CSS code only to your blog and single post template under the advanced settings in Showit. If you add it to every page, it will affect all of your headings. If you are using the Customization panel or a plugin in Wordpress that loads the CSS for all pages, you could add the class before your selectors ie. body.blog h2 or body.blog h3 body.single-post h2 or body.single-post h3 Let me know if this helps!
You should be able to prepend your CSS class for headings / paragraphs with another class that is based off of the canvas name in Showit that is the parent element for your post content text box. Just drill down to the div container that contains your post content and look for the class. For example, mine is called .sie-post-content_0 so the resulting css might look something like: .sie-post-content_0 h2{ property: value; } You would need to adjust based on the canvas name/class on your own site. Hope this helps!
Great question - that is done by setting your brand color in your account settings. Here is a helpful article that will show you how: help.dubsado.com/en/articles/467109-choose-a-brand-color#set-a-brand-color
So did you have to create the template for the pop up or does the website automatically generate one for you? If so...could you drop a tutorial on how to do that?
Thrivecart comes with a base template for the pop-up design that you can customize based on what design elements you want included and also you can change the colors / fonts to match your brand. I will make a tutorial on what this process looks like too!
This was very helpful! Thank you. How do you make a word slide across the page? Like this one at the top it slides across to say "dreams" wildandfree.showit.site/sales-page
I believe this is done using the "Transition" tab in Showit. Select an element on your canvas and then look at the right menu, you should see it. Then select the Type "Slide" and choose your settings. I will make another tutorial showing how if it helps! :)
