Even if it was visible light you still wouldn’t see anything except for maybe a slight reflection from the emitter or target itself. This is because there’s no medium (like air) for the light to travel through. No medium means no refraction which means no visible beam. The only way to see the beam itself is if your eyeball was directly in front of its path.
You might enjoy the Legend of the Galactic Heroes OVA. Fleets of tens to hundreds of thousands of ships, fighting at up to 50 light seconds from each other, using particle beams which appear as beams that travel at near c, and volley fire tactics to make up for the inherent inaccuracy of fighting at that distance, and powerful ECM.
I have an old 80s Hondo strat copy that I want to make a basitar out of with 3 bass strings (ADG). My question is do you play a basitar through a guitar or bass amp? I would think guitar to get a better sound. Just got to where you say you play through a bass amp. I picked up a marshall model MG412a cabinet so I will probably be playing through that.
Another thing, Why do we always have the encounter with aliens in the modern age? Why don’t we have an alien invasion in the Middle Ages or in The Renaissance? Maybe they see us as “adorable” lower life forms and they try to help us advance our technology. I think that would be cool.
we arent advance enought to have such combat yet such combat like film will become real when we have more pinpoint accuracy warp drive and surprise our opponent when we move near them and mass engaging them in close combat
In my story, Humans are only matched in strength and brutality by a race of genetically engineered super soldiers, who are still worse off overall than humans due to their inability to get stronger over time (their muscles are so dense that they don't tear, so no matter how much they work out, they can't naturally grow stronger). On the whole, other races are physically weaker than humans, but have versatility that humans don't like extra arms, wings, stronger bite force, or magic.

You can use the monolitic ailien thing as a stereotype that other people believe about the aliens in question since humans have a long history of dragging everybody of an outside grup over the same edge assigning certain groups broadstroked but false attributes they then judge said group by. So why not create this alien people that others that arent them has decided are all stupid and believe are lesser then for instance. Or have people from one society brand another society/specie as all evil and vicious thus justifying their own radical violence against them.
I recently came up with an idea for a sci-fi alien romance novel inspired by Pokemon (more specifically, Mewtwo) and I guess my aliens will be kinda tall and catlike. I might end up self publishing said book in the event I complete it in the future.
What gauge bass strings did you use? Are you still using guitar tuners or did you have to swap those out to bass tuners? Did you modify the nut for these?
8:00 its difficult to tell without more examples but arguably, a similar planet but a bit larger would have a higher statistical chacne for life emerging but also stornger gravity thus requiring smaller, bulkier bodyplans and more strength
I am working on an alien hybrid right now so this has helped. I especially like the take of making an alien not stronger but perhaps even weaker than humans. Certainly something to consider
Regarding pulsed vs. continuous lasers - other than obvious benefits of not needing to track the target to deliver that energy, there is one more - once you reach a certain threshold of energy density, you no longer heat the material up, you blow off electron layers and disrupt chemical bonds. Speaking of which, on the year you released this video a Nobel prize was awarded on the topic of wide spectrum lasers compressed into high density pulses of energy. By now most laser surgery machines use this technique to ablate tissue without overheating surrounding areas. Of course in real life, unlike in games and such, you don't need to actually destroy target to win a battle - continuous laser beams even if they can't effectively penetrate the armor, can damage sensors and other equipment necessarily located outside of the hull.

Both weapon systems have their advantages and drawbacks. Energy weapons attenuate over distance no matter how well focused they are, so your max range is when your beam doesn't have the power to penetrate the target anymore. Kinetic weapons won't lose penetration over distance, but projectiles become easier and easier to avoid the farther you are from the firing platform. And each missed shot is now a high speed object flying through space just waiting to hit someone in 10,000 years.
