The TBM tracker looks like it's either broken through or knocking on the door now. But interestingly.... on the far east side, it looks like the TBM's will end very suspiciously close to where the eastern suburbs railway exits near the art gallery. Although I've never heard it mentioned, could they decided to convert the ESR into metro. I always thought the line should have been continued down to Bondi Beach!!
hopefully sometime this year they would've layed down the first cement slab in the station box in preperation for laying tracks and building the platform
Scheduled to open in August so that heard. I think a lot of the station over developments will have some complete and some still in construction phases meaning it could be until next year when they are all completed.
Along with the millions of bollards along Hickson Road, why are there so many metal poles sticking out of the ground? Cities in Australia seem to have metal poles sticking out of the ground everywhere.
Thanks for this. Seems it will be some time before this opens. I thought they were all gonna be ready in 2 months?? I will get my Open Day at Crow's Nest up, soon. Martin Place Open day is already up.
Clarke Street entrance could open both sides of the corner. Having an entrance across the Pacific Hwy at the Pacific entrance will be better so people don't have to wait for the traffic lights. The area will be hugely crowded in the future as so many high-rise buildings are waiting to be built.
That red brickwork is so 60 & 70s Sydney. Used to build everything from council toilet blocks, to schools, to awkward little kiosks , to of course suburban housing. The brick patterns on those walls seem to echo walls built for breezeways where every second brick was left out so as to let the wind flow through.
@@ranger8237 Won't be doing Central either until the full line opening. Although I was given an exclusive tour down on the metro platforms back in September but am unable to post the video yet.
@@williamwalker8106I overheard Peter Regan the Chief Executive of Sydney Metro at the Martin Place Metro Station Community Open Day on the 5th May and he said that there will be a community open day at Crows Nest in the next 3 weeks or so.
Is it intentionally played in slow motion to highlight how slow they were to finish this. Omg its taken forever. Its sat there completed not doing anything for 2 or 3 years
@@murraykitson1436 oh exactly not sure if the workers are useless or just incredibly bad management. Drive down to Canberra and the road works have been going on for six months. Its just clearing and laying road. Its hard muscle work but its not exwctly rocket science
Finally its only taken ten or fifteen years to build. The cities a mess. We need more of these things. They should just be free to use. We have to drive around the mess for years also all of our tax. The cities too full and the states too empty.
Ok wise guy, let's see you build it! 15 years ago was 2009. I know for a fact that none of this was under construction yet. You need to understand that digging _any_ railway tunnel is incredibly slow and expensive. You don't just turn up with a few dozen fit guys, picks, shovels, and a roughly drawn diagram of what you want to do!
