I used the large heatshields from the mod Sterling Systems to form the main part of the craft. I then used the offset tool and cubic octagonal struts to place the cockpit and attachment point for the rest of the fuselage
Nice idea to test the probe for harsh cold environments (far small moons) in a accessible place first, because it would be real sad if it stopped working mid temp drop. How about SeaLaunch video? Its intresting when a rocket can be launched from anywhere with water, also IMHO ukrainian Zenit rockets are nice looking, so maybe Zenit-Next gen would also be cool
I like how you used a Saturn MLV to launch the super skylab as it would be the only rocket capable of doing so. I think this is somewhat of a realistic scenario if NASA had kept geting founding, maybe if the soviets had successfully landed on the Moon too. Although I have to say that it's not very likely that the crew would have been launched on a modified Saturn V rocket as it would have been too costly and complicated to build compared to a Saturn IB.
Firstly, thanks! I'll admit that most of my videos are just intended to explore the concepts of these interesting rockets, with little regard for what actually would get funding. Secondly, the main reason I didn't use the Saturn IB is that I had done it before.
@TheOrbitingBrick For being a simple concept of a bigger Skylab it is petty good and somewhat realistic, although I know it's not your aim to create something 100% feasible. Don't worry about the Saturn IB thing, it's always fun to experiment with new things in KSP, and that's kind of the thing you're supposed to do. Comments aside, I would like you to do a similar video about a bigger Salyut station. It would be interesting to think about what the soviets would have come up with to continue competing with the US in space.
@@franciscoborrashidalgo7776 Bigger Salyut sounds like an interesting idea, I think I'll do that! However, if I do bigger Salyut, then the next logical step would obviously be larger Mir.
@@TheOrbitingBrick If you ever do a bigger Salyut, I would like it to be asembled in orbit like the MIR instead of being launched in a single launch like skylab as it was the method the soviets ended up applying with their space program
@@Little908It didn't get that close to working irl but it could have worked if Korolev had survived his surgery and cancer together with (pretty likely) signing a "work together" treaty with Chelomei.
I only use a Kerbalism radiation-only profile config, and i love it, i just turned down solar storm probabilty a bit, and use other less complex LS for the rest. Realistic and yet funny enough install IMHO. Good video!
It's been 3 days and I'm unsure what you're trying to imply. Are you saying that my voice is faked? In that case, it isn't, as nobody would willingly have a voiceover that sounds this bad.
@@TheOrbitingBrick Yes I do agree 1000% with that! I've been thinking on doing something like a Saturn INT-17 lander for Eve so I can return with ease ... But no idea nor time for testing how I would make the reentry without burning up. Anyways, its up to you, you always get great ideas imho.
looks like KSRSS, Bluedog Design, KRSSKapeKanaveral, Scatterer, Waterfall, DOE, Restock, and Planetshine (i'd reccomend deffered KSP by blackrack instead as it is superior to planetshine)
@@benzene_sandwich You are in fact correct with the mods you listed. Also, I believe Deferred is incompatible with a bunch of the mods I use (and also, I try to only use mods on CKAN since updating stuff manually sucks)
7:55 don't worry about sounding incoherent! Making videos is actually tougher than it looks, I know! Just stick with it and you'll find a sweet spot, you have great videos my friend!
I've been hesitant to get the rest of the near future collection; However, I've never heard anything negative about it and will likely have it by next video.
