The Jeremy Turgeon Quintet, also know as "JTQ" brings a fresh, new sound to the modern jazz scene. Inspired by Robert Glasper, Musiq Soulchild, and Lalah Hathaway, the band, though primarily instrumental, quite often features vocalist, Nichelle J. Mungo among others. Although a young band, JTQ has performed at several festivals and venues including the Stone Soul Festival, Indie Soul Festival, Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival, Northampton City Strut, Rockwood Music Hall, Shrine World Music Venue, and the historic Bing Arts Center, where they have recently completed a year-long residency. In addition, JTQ opened for the critically acclaimed band, The Nth Power. Other collaborations include Braxton Cook, Linda Henderson, Jo Sallins and Jim “Mondongo” Messbauer.
