I just got a 2020 Twenty and it is very powerfull. Way more than my 1200cc sportster. Going to change out the solo tractor style seat to a Indian comfort seat. I am 63 and have had lots of bikes. You can really feel the bumps. Mine has the mini ape bars. Very good video.
You gotta drive a base model, they're exceptionally good. I was going to buy one, a d then I got a shot at a 2022 Ftr r carbon with 2067 miles for $13,000. So I bought that. I'm a hard core sport rider with 40yrs. of riding experience, and a 2010 zx10 r in the garage. I would have been happy with the base one...go ride it😊
They're definitely doing big things over at Lloyd's! If the Indian cams feel like this, I'd love to try out some 585's 🤘 if you ever get to try one, make sure that gopro is rollin!
@@NicePantsLance for sure. I road that 116 roadmaster. But I can tell the Indian cam is still not a top end cam. Factory performance parts are for some reason still tame 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️. Just my onion.
Cool fact: the Valkyrie was an American-built motorcycle. Oddly enough, they built a few of them equipped with a reverse, that worked like the old Goldwing reverse (side shift that used the starter motor for power)... stranger still, is how reverse was only available on export models.
Did you use the right size holesaw to completely free the baffle from the outside of the pipe? Maybe you need cut further in, or maybe get a better fitting holesaw
Well, yes and no. There's another style of exhaust for this bike that has the baffle tack-welded in a few locations. If you drill out those welds, the baffle can slip out and the only damage will be those small holes. This Virago has the more difficult exhaust that needs the baffles cut out. I friggin wish it was easier! Lol 😁
@@NicePantsLance Yeah, makes sense. I've got the same pipes as you, but a bunch of holes drilled into the baffle, not sure if that's the norm? Or if someone's gone custom way to free up xhaust airflow. Nevertheless, cheers, i'll give it a go.
Just put in 1700 miles over a leisurely four days on my tricked out 2003 Valkyrie with my Ol' Lady. Five States in four days. Not even the slightest bit sore. I can live off of this bike on a semi permanent basis with no problems and one permanent passenger. I'm never giving up my Valkyrie!
Its such a fantastic machine! Everyone likes Goldwings, but i like the Valkyrie more. Coworker of mine has a Valkyrie Interstate in mint condition. If Honda made a modern variation i would buy it 🤘
I'm definitely excited to see how this tire handles in the turns! If it even turns at all 😂 it'll either be an excellent video, or possibly my last video 💀
Excellent bike to darkside. Heavy, lots of torque, and equipped from the factory with a huge rear tire so handling with a car tire won't take a lot of getting used to (not that there is a ton of difference...mainly a little more effort to initiate lean).
Couldn't agree more! I'm on a few Rocket 3 forums on facebook and this exact tire is very commonly used 🤟 i can definitely see why!! It'll be hard going back to a regular motorcycle tire 😅
The choke works the other way round, you were riding it on full choke, the lever is sprung loaded and must point towards the fuel cap when it is off choke. It will always return to full choke if the screw on the lever is loose. Other than that the bike sounds gorgeous have fun, Geoff from England.
Thank you for the tip! Yeah the current owner wasnt quite as informed as he should have been lol it has since gone back to the original owner down in Florida!
@NicePantsLance - until BMW came out with their K1600, the Honda F6C and CBX 1000 were the smoothest bike engines ever made. The only thing that makes the BMW better, is a deeper scrub angle. If you're not looking to carve deep, I still prefer the F6C. 100k miles is nothing for those engines. The main thing, is to have the carbs tuned for modern gas. Most gas is E10 now... which runs a tad lean on carbs calibrated prior to 2008. It also doesn't lubricate the top cylinder as well. 1997 is the year to own (first year production). They changed the cams in 1998 for better bottom end torque, and lost a lot of throttle response. The cams are a direct swap. Should you ever decide to service them, order the 1997 part number. It'll probably be a voluntary thing... as I've seen these engines with over 200k miles and no rebuild.
Thats wild!! You have a ton of knowledge on Valks 👌 ive always wanted to try one of those K1600's!! The sad part is i dont have any bmw dealers near me 🥲
@NicePantsLance - highly recommended. I like BMWs in general. They build bikes for the rider... not for magazine headlines. Stable, smooth, forgiving... they check all the boxes to build confidence. They've mastered the art of suspension geometry/tuning in nearly every class.
After 40 years of owning HARLEY-DAVIDSON‘s among other brands, I made the decision to give Indian a shot. I recently bought a brand new roadmaster and couldn’t be happier. I’m 6’4” 230 pounds. The roadmaster just fit me better than any other bike available to test ride.
That Roadmaster is like a luxury passenger van!! I'm totally jealous 🤟 glad you found a motorcycle that fits you well! Not many motorcycles feel comfy for bigger guys these days
3 days ago I bought one of these, last year I had the CBR 900RR sc33 and, saving distances, what a beautiful time machine this 1998 Valkyrie with 30 thousand miles, 6 straight pipes, cobra seat and I love it. I’m ready for this summer! I like your video.
There's a full length 0-60 video on this motorcycle 😁 fastest time achieved was just over 4 seconds! Timed using Adobe Premier Pro using frame counting, which is about as accurate as you can get aside from GPS! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lmqMiqUGx48.htmlsi=8O_z0lHaARG3l2hg
