Yup. I've an old but reliable XRay ion chamber made for radioprotection. No scattering cause the tube is very directional and the "irradiation" chamber walls are fully covered by almost pure lead sheet in 2.5mm thickness that absorb everything.

now you need xray film. try xraying random stuff like flowers, watermelons, pumpkins and see how they come out. xray flowers come out pretty cool

It's a geiger counter... it cannot be trust by its own nature, its error anyway could be no more than ±30% at least. Even with 100% error 0.4uSv/h is really a don't worry dose rate. Usually I prefer to use pancake geiger in beta flux mode to have an idea about what's happening and estimate the flux/danger. Distance, concrete and lead sheet helps to reduce risk at minimum. Sadly properly calibrated ion chamber or scintillator for low energy xray are hard to find... I rely on a Mirion personal dosimeter that is not worth showing cause it almost doesn't even detect <1uSv/h ±50keV xrays. I will make a video of it in front of the beam maybe

There’s a reason people who work with nuclear materials use dosimeter badges as the gold standard for radiation dosage. Geiger counters just tell you if you need to leave ASAP. I’d never trust one for long term doses. Either way, X-ray tubes like that aren’t very dangerous unless you’re using them day in and day out. Early X-ray technicians got terrible problems from cumulative doses, but patients at worst would get a sunburn.

Скорее всего для CB он переделан. Убрано всё лишнее, ну и напряжение побольше на анод подкинул. Для 4 ватт в катод, вполне для CB сгодится.

УМ-3 это. Армейский усилитель для Р-105- Р-109, там 6п15п в доайвере стоит.Только почему-то он у него разобранный .Работает от 20 до 50 Мгц. Был такой у меня в 90-е годы.

I am getting ready to fire my ²⁴¹Am at my CsI(tl) in a vacuumed pathway. I want to investigate the energy/air density ratio for use as a cheap and handy vacuum gauge. We all know those fat, lazy alphas don't travel far in air. How well and how far in a high vacuum? Can I detect the change in ballistic trajectory over several feet? Is there much, if any, influence from a magnetic field upon the neutral helium nuclei path? I am too clumsy with ²⁴¹Am. I had 15 replaced smoke detectors donated by maintenance man. Now I only have 5 pellets left.
