Hello Mersey Shipping, An interesting ship. Pacific Basin written on her side. Is she then a long way from home? She looks empty of any cargo. Not a lot of movement in the River, had we just had Low Water? I seem to remember being told (a long time ago) there is about 30 mins lull between when tides start to change which has a special name, the name of which I can't recall? It was good to see the tug pull her stern around. Did the tug at her bow end actually do anything, or was she there just in case? The Challenger passed on her way out to sea. Was she working on the Wind Turbines? Sorry for all the questions. Great video as always. All the best. Spoolbox
Thanks. Yeah Challenger was on her way to the windfarm. I think your thinking of Ebb tide when it's transitioning between coming in and out. Sometimes you have a tug just standing by, not to sure of the reasoning behind it. 👍
@@merseyshipping4494 Hello again Mersey Shipping, Thank you for your reply. It has just come back to me. The time when one tide finishes and before the next movement of water starts is called "Slack Water". When the Mersey Ferry's used to be more regular, one used to see a Ferry approach the stage, at the peak of the high/low water tide, but the slack water had only been minutes and the tide had started to turn, It was fun then seeing the ferry having to to a 180% turn to enable to moor safely. Nature is amazing.
Hello Mersey Shipping. A very interesting looking ship. Have they got RO RO facilities in the Container berth for her. Strange that she went into dock stern first. She must have full moveability bow and stern to do that, especially on a flooding tide. Excellent video. Thank you. Spoolbox.
Hello Mersey Shipping. An Interesting ship. She looks well looked after. It looks like she was using the tide to help her along. I liked the tug that photo bombed your Video. Excellent Vlog as always. Thank you. Spoolbox.
Just checked high water for that day was 13.05 at just under 9 metres which is a very strong tide, when you approach Alfred Pierhead you have to get your bow in as close as you can to the North side then lift your stern and drive her in as the effect of the strong flood is setting the stern to the South not forgetting there is two ends to a ship !... now if he had a stern tug fast aft he could possibly have held the stern up to the North against the flood which is still strong at this time just at the crucial time his bow was about to enter. Not the worse damage to a vessel but a dint to your pride and believe me it hurt's for while ! And just as a footnote for all the experts out there the two worse places to dock a ship on the Mersey are Bromborough Dock which has long been sealed up and the worse ever as anyone with knowledge of this river will tell you is without a doubt Alfred entrance especially with no stern tug.
Hello Mersey Shipping. Seems an OK ship heading out into choppy waters of the Irish Sea. Otherwise what a beautiful day you had. Would she sail south towards the English Channel and then onto Holland. Do any ships sail north from Liverpool around the tip of Scotland to get to Europe? Loved the video as always.
PSVYME48 paul H Hello again bro Thank you for coming back to the ship can you put it to your link to me on your video to me I PSC FB 😂I Help you on all video viewing OBJ YT run my own adds on TV
Hello Mersey Shipping. An interesting Coaster. On her front mast it has rust from top to bottom. It must bounce up and down like a cork in rough open waters. I noticed there was no emergency drop down lifeboat (I'm sure that's not the correct name for that type of lifeboat ) on the ship? Great video as always. Thank you. Spoolbox.
Hello Mersey Shipping, Interesting looking ship. I liked the way the Stena Ferry photo bombed her and dwarfed her (Mout Hikurangi). Mout Hikurangi is very low in the water. Looking at her Primsol line, that looks to be too low in the water? Great video as always. Thank you. Spoolbox.
Don’t see anything new being constructed either for navy or any other customers 😢😢😢😢😢 ship building is dead in Uk get it cheaper better from Korea. Sadly
I was there. Unfortunately, there were about 10 very selfish individuals(Cunard employees) who stood on the disabled ramp and blocked out the view for about 1000 people infront the liver building’s. We had been waiting 5 hours. Lots not happy. Good for job the tv screens! Andrea was flawless. ❤
Cunard say Liverpool is their spiritual home but they still fucked off in 1967 and took the jobs to Southampton, we should have told them to fuck off back there
Hello Mersey Shipping. You have excelled yourself today. What an amazing video. Interesting that on the bow they have 3 spring ropes and only two ropes holding the ship against the run of the tide. What a lovely-looking ship. Thank you very much. Spoolbox.
Absolutely Amazing. What a Beautiful Cunard Lady to Visit our city for her Naming. I will be going down, late Tonight when it's quiet to get a look at her. Thanks MS 🙏🙏😜😜
Hello Mersey Shipping. Got very emotional watching this video. I have been watching Cunard ships in the River Mersey for about 65 years now. This is what you call a proper Ship. Cunard spells CLASS, so much better than your Seaside resort ships. Brilliant video. Thank you very much. Plus no tugs to moor her up. Well done Queen Anne. Thank you again. Spoolbox.
Hello Mersey Shipping. A fair speed she is going. Even the captain on the bridge seems to be leaning forward in a go-faster-speed type of look. Does she work on the Iris Sea Wind Farms? Also, is she a catamaran? Great video. Thank you.
