It's worth noting that Alcremie only registers in the HOME dex based on the flavor and not the sweet. If you deposit say Vanilla Cream + Strawberry, it will register all 7 Vanilla Cream forms at once even if you've never deposited any other Alcreamie. If your goal is to register all forms in the HOME dex, then that reduces the requirement down to 9. The same applies for Rockruff, depositing any will register both the standard and Own Tempo forms in the dex.
How did you handle G-max Melmetal? Did you choose the G-max one or the one with your OT? And if you didn't know... do you have some shiny locked pokemon in your home dex? There is a method to get shiny meloetta in the home dex for example. You need to scan a shiny meloetta qr code in gen 7. Then scan the pokedex in pokemon bank, so it gets transferred to pokemon home. One thing this game did was give me an appreciation for Hitmontop. Whenever I finish my living dex I plan on going back and RNGing a shiny one in this game.
Nope you’ll be fine. Mine is still in HOME with no issues. Because Mew can be obtained from any cartridge of Emerald at any point in time, I guess the programmers of HOME just allow it regardless of small technicalities like language.
this is really impressive! i really dont have the mental capacity to do the shinies too so wow (especially that rat and dudunsparce), thankfully the rat with 3 i found in a raid but the 3 segment dudunsparce i havent been able to find yet, i really cant imagine the pain of shiny hunting these 😮💨 So i'm doing only the normal dex, i gotta finish SV and go back to arceus and then get all alpha forms because they just had to have that symbol in HOME didnt they :') not looking forward to that lol i do have all gmax forms in a separate box so they are doubled from the normal living dex, as well as just 1 of each form doubled (so like 1 rotom for the normal living dex and then for the box forms i have all of them + the one doubled just to keep them together). I only didnt do that with the gender dimorphic pokemon, i have all males in the normal living dex boxes in order and the females separate in another box but with dimorphism tags for them all so i can filter the tag and they are all together so it's handy! tags by gen, forms, gmax forms (minus alcremie, just 1 is fine i can live with it), alpha forms and then the regional forms tags, its def a LOT easier to move pokemon around if they get new forms. I didn't bother with mega forms because i believe there is no symbol showing on home that they are mega? I think i had them all from bank though so they are in my home dex, but i can't tell on home which is which at this point haha i've been working on it since pokemon XY since we could get like all gens in that game, so i'll try to get my OT for most, but the ones u can only get in older games i wont go after unless they rerelease them for newer games. i also dont think ill be replaying the same game/dif version many times for diff legendaries with my name, which is why i find your dex even more impressive! all that patience to go thru a lot of boring dialogues just to get to the end game and catch some pokemon is incredible. it was realy really cool video! i was able to double check if i'm not missing anything too and i was missing the own tempo rockruff 😁
Glad the video helped :). Sounds like you have a great system going on! I’ve seen some people do separate box entries for Megas, but for me since they’re not a different boxable form I’m happy to just leave it for now. Maybe in the future that will change and I’ll go back and get them as separate. I recently separately got every Alpha Pokémon (non-shiny) and made a video on how to get them all if that interests you. Haha yep replaying the games can get tiresome, especially with the amount of dialogue a lot of them have in the first few hours that you have to skip through. Hope the rest of your hunts go well!
guys what should i do, i have 500 hours trying to get a shiny living dex in this. i have 2 of the 11 distortion shinies (im not counting magnezone). should i do another playthrough and get to the weird sky part of the game and hunt them shiny that way or should i just keep going like im doing on my completed file?
I definitely recommend starting another playthrough. There is so much text you have to skip through in the first part of the game which is annoying. But once you get to the part of the game you need to then it’s definitely worth it! It will save you hours in the long run!
@@Hylianstagram alright then i will first find the last 10 or so shinies i need from wild spawns (minus eevee), then I'll have to figure something out to get them back to my main file
I made a second profile on my Switch and started a new save from that. I had to make a separate Nintendo Account for this (you don’t need to purchase online). I then used the free version of Pokémon HOME with this second account and saved the Alphas I got on my second playthrough into the one free box you get with free HOME. Then I went onto the full version of HOME on my main account, where, once logged in, you are able to choose the username of any profile on the Switch and drag the Pokémon saved in the free HOME profile into your main HOME profile. This is probably the easiest way to do it if you’re like me and only have one Switch.
Omg i didnt know that about the space time distortions. Glad i have a game already restarted. Time to zoom through it until the sky turns wierd and alpha hunt in the distortions.
I hope it helps! One thing I forgot to mention is make sure your Star Rank is high enough to unlock the Ultra Ball recipe. This will be the 6 Star Rank. Once you have that and have upgraded the items you can buy at the shop in Jubilife Village, you’ll be able to buy Ultra Balls and Sticky Globs to make catching them super easy!
It took me 6 weeks in Alpha Sapphire. The DexNav mechanic slowly helped narrow down the specific Unown letter I was looking for, and then I had to rely on shiny odds on top of that. It’s probably still the best game to hunt them in apart from Legends Arceus.

I’ve been working on a size dex, smallest and alpha of every pokemon, since I found out about the size ranges. Smallest is so much hard than alpha and I haven’t even got all the alphas yet 😵💫😂
That’s such a cool challenge! I imagine the smallest would be so hard to get since they’re probably not guaranteed to spawn like some of the guaranteed Alphas. Hope it isn’t too hard!
Congrats on finishing your collection! The distortion exclusives took me like 300 hours... really don't like this mechanic. I hope alpha eevee, burmy, cherubi and the distortion exclusives are easier to hunt in ZA cause I'd like to hunt all the shiny alphas one day... but without taking like 80k hours for 32 shinies...
Thank you! It’s such a terrible mechanic and I was starting to get worried for my Switch as it got fairly hot while waiting for distortions, especially while charging with low battery! Can’t wait to see what ZA has in store!
No dead battery of any kind should affect this hunt. The easiest way to tell is as long as you are getting a Jirachi with a different nature / stats every reset, you’ll know you’re receiving a different one each time!
Some Jirachi that you receive might spawn on only one frame, while other Jirachi might have up to dozens of frames where the same one spawns. An example of this in this video is in the RNG manip section where you can see the exact same shiny Jirachi can be found on several frames. So it could be that. A few resets will advance the frames far enough to net you a new Jirachi. When in doubt, always take note of the stats and the berry it’s holding to see if they change. If still in doubt, reset the GameCube to generate a new seed.
If you’re talking about the GameCube’s internal clock, then no it shouldn’t affect it either to my knowledge. The easiest way to tell is turn on the GC, load up Channel and pay attention to the order the four options in the main menu spawn in (I mention this in the RNG manip section). If they appear in a different order then it’s at least a quick way to tell that you have a different seed, and thus a different Jirachi spawning.
Just wanna say, this video prompted me to pick this hunt back up today, and also complete it today as well, I did 7 encounters today (857 total), and just... got it! so thank you for inspiring me to go for this again after months of putting it off
I hate to be that guy but is there any footage of getting shinies such as Manaphy? As Ive been working toward tbis goal for many years Im more than aware the validity of most shiny Mews, Deoxys & Manaphys is 👎. Also you're missing 13, still more to go 🥲
I can 100% hand of heart say that all of these hunts are legitimate. The Manaphy, Deoxys’ and Mew I all hunted before I became a streamer sadly. I do have additional photos and videos of me catching them, and I talk about the hunts in more details on my individual Reddit posts on them - but that’s all the proof I have so I understand your scepticism on them. The CHANNEL Jirachi on the other hand I have since gotten full odds on stream - the hunt and method are featured in another recent video I uploaded. May I ask what 13 am I missing?
I have a full OT living form dex, as well as a full shiny OT living form dex and this video is making me consider "merging" them so that it goes non-shiny, shiny, non-shiny, shiny, etc. I would hate to go through the trouble of doing that then not end up liking it, but I do love the way it looks here! ugh I'm unsure! Great video! :)

I used to play ultra moon ALOT as a kid I remember encountering a shiny zubat and I didn’t know what a shiny was so I killed it with my starter and it happened TWICE a because I killed a shiny murcrow too! So yes I’m stupid
I can’t believe it took them until the first DLC to fix the bug! So much easier to hunt these now! I’ll update the description on this video when I get a chance to reflect this!
Is interesting how there ways to manipulate the thing but I honestly would rather grind to do all the pulls this way. The insane variety of items you get for doing this 1,000 pull run sounds more exiting and rewarding. And by the looks of it, you will make more than enough cash just from treasure rewards alone. I love how you get plenty of IV training items is amazing. Thanks, amazing vid.
