The building in the center of Shah Goli lake dates only to the 1960s, when then greedy mayor of Tabriz had the old Safavid palace of king Ismail I knocked down to build this kitchy new building and get kickback money from its construciton. The lake itself is Sassanian, and belongs to the Anahita Temple (also seen in Kirmanshah/Taq Bustan, Takab, Firuzabad and Lahijan, among others)
