Im a proud Adelaidean who travels extensively all over the globe and has spent time in many different aussie cities. I love traveling to new places but Adelaide is always such a pleasure to come home to The beaches in adelaide are stunning and so close to the city. The sunsets here are spectacular too, especially in summer. For arts lovers, we have stacks of fetivals, theatre and gigs. Adelaide oval is one of the lost beautiful sports grounds (just ask Pink), and our hills and wine regions are world famous and easily accessible. The food here is world class too! Oh, and the weather is pretty great and definitely better than Melbourne haha. Melbourne is a fun city, but adelaide is a winner for sure ❤
Newly retired and I think this would be an amazing way to spend time with animals. Don't have any of my own pets anymore so love to get my pet fix with other's animals.
In the mid 80's my friend was transferred from Perth to Melbourne. He sold his 5 bedroom home in an affluent suburb relatively close to the coast 25 km north of Perth. The best house he could afford was a 3 bedroom home in Frankston. 55 km from Melbourne.
Daylight stupidity does not give you an extra hour of light. It means those who don't start work in the middle of the day are forced to go to work in the dark all year round. Perth has the Darling escarpment nearby which is also "very nice" for day trips.
Just some issues regarding Brizzy and Perth Brizzy is hot and humid during their long summers Perth is mostly dry and Very Hot during their summers An Evap will work in Perth but never in QLD Everything else is the same, rediculous prices for everything $50 for 20 smokes, $15 for a pint of Nonsense, $25 for a serving of rice and crab dicks $600 a week to rent a shoebox, $1000 a yr to license a Moke, excess water bills that will force you to hospital style sponge baths, insurance rates that destroy budgets school fees that will send you broke, power bills that are eye watering, $500 fines for being 2 kms an hour over the limit, getting booze tested almost daily in massive peak hour traffic jams, getting a full strip search for even smelling a hint gay. Police smashing down your front door because they can. Getting arrested while out shopping for days because they can and zero phone calls for a lawyer for up to 3 months!!! anyone getting the picture here??
Brisbane is the larger/ more impressive city, it has two smaller orbiting cities (Sunshine coast and Gold Coast) within a comfortable commuting distance. The great barrier reef is within strike distance, as are semi-tropical rainforests, a plethora of theme parks are just down the road and unlike Perth it's connected to all the other major cities by passenger rail. You're also pretty close to New Zealand if you want to fly across and check it out sometime. Perth certainly isn't a bad place though, just a bit disconnected from the world.
Lisa, you forgot the most important difference between Sydney and Brisbane, picking the right NRL State of Origin team to barrack for! 😄😄🏉🏉 since Qld doesn't have daylight saving, Brisbane midsummer sunrise at 4.45am vs Sydney 5.40am. Otherwise great video!
I watch escape to the country uk houses are extremely weird!! Even the new builds look like older style. I asked uk friends where are your ultra modern homes they said we don’t have any.
Perth wins hands down. That is the place to go to. You will have a great life in Perth. Brisbane is unbearably hot and humid in summer. Its VERY uncomfortable. Its also boring and conformist. I live in Brisbane..
@@Waywind420 Yes, it does get hot in Perth but its not oppressive humid heat like in Brisbane. Brisbane is surrounded by rain-forest for a reason. It gets very uncomfortable in summer. Perth enjoys a Mediterranean type of climate that is pleasant in comparison.
Oh man, for me it's Perth. I just traveled both of the citys and Perth is uptil now, my favourite city on the planet. I pan to get a visa und move to Perth permanently when i am done with my master. I see myself, working over the day, and spend my evenings on the beach with my wife and surf & on the weekend doing smaller 2 night trips in the area with a 4WD & enjoying the beautifuly costline. I think about living in perth every day for 4 years now :D * sorry for my spelling mistakes, still prepairing for the english-test for my visa, obveiosly i am not done yet :D ^^
I am pretty sick of the constant grey skies in Adelaide. This does make me think about my older years. Maybe I should try Perth. I dislike the tropics so no Queensland… lol
If you are a musician or artist you would be better off living over East. There is no culture in Perth. Any art culture is over in the East. All major art competitions are run in the East. If you are an artist you should live in Melbourne or Sydney. Perth is all about money, cafes, sport, mining. No culture. Perth sleeps at night. The city is a desert at night.
Your data is quite out of date. Canberra's population in 2024 is 477,567, along with Queanbeyan its smaller NSW neighbour just over the border, which has 65,369, the population is over half a million and growing fast. There are a circle of small rural towns as well for people who like to live in the country and commute in. I think you have understated Canberra. It is quite lively and has a lot of shops in its 5 town centres. Livelier than Adelaide despite the smaller size. Adelaide is great during its annual Festival, but pretty dull the rest of the time. Canberra has a lot of events going on all year and more attractions within the city. It is a very leafy city with walks and bicycle paths everywhere. Nature and wildlife fill the city and there are far more cultural institutions in Canberra than Adelaide. Canberra has more major educational facilities with four universities as opposed to Adelaide's two. Canberra is less isolated than Adelaide, being between Sydney and Melbourne. Sydney especially is a relatively short drive, train ride or flight away. Many Adelaidians when they move, move up to Canberra as a much more modern and economically active city without it being the full on city congestion of Sydney or Melbourne.
Split system air conditioners are very common in australia where i live i have a built in air cooler and for winter its a wall heater or commenly known as the furnice
I’ve lived in Perth all my life. It’s great if you have a boat, which means it’s great if you have money. It’s a giant sprawling suburb. The summers are becoming more humid over the years with climate change. The wind is insane. Perths beaches are heaven but the wind ruins them sometimes. I’ve been to Gold Coast a few times and I was in awe, it had such an incredible vibe compared to Perth. If you’re looking to live in the burbs forever in a home you can’t afford, come to Perth 😂
