You can record the sound of the SC4 itself on the usb stick or sd card that you use for playing. I record my video's with different kinds of camera's and then sync the camera audio with the internal audio recorded from the SC 4 in Premiere Pro.
I have a multitude of speakers but currently I like to use my Focal Alpha 65 Evo the most, the 80s are a bit to much in my current situation. As I really need to put good bass traps in the studio still.
Hello, there is no way I can get the BPM to appear on the screen (although I analyze everything with Engine), can you help me get it? It is important for me to see the BPM on the screen and organize it in ascending or descending order. Thank you very much Joana d.j. Spain
Do you mean the main display or the screens on the platters? I had that issue once but just restarting the unit fixed it. If your screen doesn't show it in the main display try Shift+View to change your info on the screen. Otherwise I honestly have no idea why it won't show up.
@@Motel-Music Hello Motel, first of all, thank you for answering my question so quickly. I mean, for example, I have a 1 TB hard drive (how could I put pen drivers) in one of the USB ports, and logically it's all my music from my computer in a folder that I call My Music, and within that folder are the sub-folders by genre, (with different names of course), by year, etc. and logically it shows me the root folder of My Music I enter (I'm always talking about the 7" screen of the controller not the joys) and it shows me all the folders and subfolders, I choose a folder and in the right half of the screen they all appear the songs that are in that chosen folder, and the information of the Artist, the title of the song and something else comes, but I can never see the BPM and I would like the BPM to be seen, on the right side of the song because if you fixed above there is an arrow inside a round icon that serves to organize the songs from least to most BPM, or vice versa, with which I always organize them on my laptop, from least to most, Why?, simple because to measure As the night goes by and people dance more, I go up in BPM to match the environment, so I can have, let's say, the first song with a BPM of 128, and going down the list goes up, so the last song goes up. from the list can easily end up having a BPM of 150, so I need the BPM information to be reflected in the right half of the 7" screen of the controller, I don't know if I have explained it well, thank you very much in advance. Greetings Joana d.j.
@@Joanny69-yc6tm What I understand is that you just put in your hard drive with all your music on it in the usb port and let the player read all your tracks. I think you need to import them into Engine OS on your PC first and then export your library onto a USB stick or drive that you plugin the player. That way all your music is analyzed for BPM, genre etc etc. You can change what you see on your screen via the menu when sliding down on the top of your screen. or it that doesnt work shift+view changes your main screen lay-out. I haven't played much since the new update so now idea what that does. But your BPM should always be visible when your tracks are analyzed via Engine OS.
Just bought this standalone system, having never DJd before. Your channel is a Godsend. So many options. Any tips on best things to focus on would be great!
Good to hear you are starting to DJ, it's great fun. I would start by just learning the very basics. Use EQs to mix, and try to see if you like the crossfader or the channel fader more. Most non scratch DJs turn off the crossfader (by setting each channel to center instead of A or B side of crossfader) so that is a thing to try out first. And try to find your genre of course. Dont let people day you cant do this or cant use that. Just try to have fun, thats what music is all about.
Thanks. I usually disable the cross fader but sometimes like it if I have two very similar songs playing and I can flip between them (maybe not that serious, but just for fun). I spent a lot of time getting into all subgenres of psytrance, but funny enough not that keen to DJ with it. I guess I like it as zone out music, and I can't really zone out while DJing! Drum and Bass is the next best thing. Also some faster technos. But also been spending my time on some all time classics, non edm. I feel I can hear more easily in real-time when I am off beat.
@Motel-Music One more question please! Do you have any tips for DJing unfamiliar songs. It seems everyone suggests knowing each track back to front, eventually I will but I just want to sample a broad range of music while I learn where I find most enjoyment. And also, I would like to be more experimental and surprised by what I can do on the fly. I feel I would get bored of replaying the same music over and over. So far this is something I didn't consider before getting started (only on week 3 atm)
@deankayton oh I really dont know that much of the music I play, sure I throw in some classics here and there and some bangers I absolutely love. But I like to play new and just released tracks I find online mixed with classics. I love the matching of random songs together. I have a really bad memory too so most of the time I cant even remember the titles of famous songs lol. My RU-vid sets I mainly plan nowadays because I find joy in creating playlists. But its a lot of fun to just freestyle your way trough the night. That teaches you the best how to handle any song as well I think. Disco is the hardest in my eyes because it doesn't follow the normal beatcounts or bpm grid most modern music goes by. But it's also a lot of fun. And with Techno you can just blend endlessly because its all about rhytm and a state of trance.
I just literally asked "give me a setlist of 15 techno songs that would sound good on the main stage of Tomorrowland" and it gave me this exact list. I just mixed the songs it wrote down in the exact order. If I would make the list myself I would definitely change some things since the energy is a bit random but It came up with some decent songs I think. Was a pretty fun experiment.
I don't believe the screen of the SC Live 4 is capable of that as its just a numeric display. On the SC6000 you can put your own logo on the players as well by uploading a cover.png file to your library.
This type of music you play, is it available on Amazon music, tidal etc? I’ve always been into U.K. garage Grime Dubstep Reggae U.K. funky Etc But this stuff is nice. Really want to start expanding my genres but sometimes I take on way too much. Especially as I kinda live most types of music.
I guess most of it is available on streaming services. I use Spotify Myself and Soundcloud and lots of my music is on there. I do however like to find songs that are difficult to find on record or on Bandcamp etc. But most of my music comes from ZipDJ as they offer everything from NuDisco to Hard Techno and anything in between.
@@Motel-Music thank you for that. Sorry bro but I have 1 more question that I hope you don’t mind answering. Have you used engine dj desktop to put your personal mp3 songs in and then analyse them and put on usb to use on sc live 4? If so, does it generally work perfectly and all songs play? Or do the songs sometimes corrupt? I’ve heard that they corrupt if you load songs on to usb without using engine dj But I’ve also heard that songs regularly go bad even doing it via engine dj. I’ll need to actually buy a new laptop and I don’t want to do so if songs go bad , often. If you say that engine dj isn’t reliable and songs turn red often, then I’ll send back my sc live 4 because I bought this for convenience, not headaches.
I have been using Engine OS for well over a year now and only once I had a problem with my files but that was because I had all my songs on a SD card instead of on the PC itself, and when syncing I messed up my library that way. So I just started over with a new library this time with all the songs on my hard drive instead of the SD card haha. I never use USB sticks or anything in my gear that aren't prepared (either trough Engine OS or Rekordbox) so I wouldnt know how the SC4 handles normal MP3 sticks that arent run trough Engine OS first. As long as your files stay in the same place on your computer, you shouldnt get red missing tracks on your device when syncing. But I guess thats the same with any of the DJ software out there. btw I also sync my cue points between Engine OS and Rekordbox with Lexicon, so I can play in clubs that have Pioneers. and I have not had any problems with that either. @@grahamkelly8662
Bro sorry to be a pain and I may have asked this and forgot but have you had any crossfader bleed with your sc live 4? If no, have you used it regularly, over last year? I’m about to set up mine and hear lots of people having bleed from channel faders or even the main fader, just months after purchasing.
Hey i believe i answered that a few days ago but no I have had no problems with the SC live 4. I use it every single week in all kinds of conditions and its holding up great. I think it works even better than the sc6000 and x1850 setup that I have, those do have issues but the sc4 is great.
@@Motel-Music ah, thank you. Yeh sorry if I asked you before, I just couldn’t remember. I did buy the 2 year warranty to be safe but the thought of sending it back because sound bleed from faders, every few months , sounds like a nightmare, that I don’t encounter. The sun is shining so bright today and I am going to set up my sc live 4 and hope it goes well. 👍
@grahamkelly8662 no worries mate. We have a standard of 2 years warranty in the EU so that should be fine i guess. I hope you have a wonderful day on the sun today. I did find it hard to see the screen in daylight but maybe the daylight function helps. I havent used that yet.
@@Motel-Music sorry to bother you again but do you possibly use a power bank when you play your account live 4 outside? If so, can you recommend me 1? I’d like to play in my garden sometime. I know nothing about power banks and have received conflicting information about them. Some say you should get a high capacity power bank and others say you shouldn’t get high capacity because it comes with problems. Oh , I may buy a small pair of 40 or 50w speakers, if I need them. Can they plug directly in to sc live? And do I need a pre amp or anything ? Thanks again.
@grahamkelly8662 I use a Ecoflow River 2 Max for that, its a bit big but comes in handy for many things, also use it for camping etc. For speakers I would use the internal speakers for outdoor recording sessions, or you can hookup any powered speakers that have xlr or rca inputs.
