I am James F JR... I am past Sixty years old. The Four Tops had a great Gift in Levi Stubbs who later in the 80s lent his voice to the Musical Little Shop of Horrors. He portrayed the Vocals of Audrey ll the Evil Plant. Bernadette, all of their Songs had his powerful lead with an incredible backing Harmony. Especially in Bernadette. R.I.P. Mr. Levi Stubbs . Now the Temptations their version of Standing in the Shadows of Love can only be matched by the Four Tops. This was an Era of real Motown Magic. Eddie Kendricks Falsetto was so Amazing. Both groups could get your body moving. Thank you for this comparison. It makes me know that before music was mangled and Turned into Rap music of the day. With the exception of Eminem. Still the past of the real Good Male groups was New Edition, Force MDs, Troop, prior to that... The Jackson 5 , Switch, Confunksun , Cameo. ( Wayne Cooper). Not even close. The 4 Tops are icons but they really can't compete. I lead singer to 4 (Eddie, David, Paul and Dennis.) The 4T dance moves were elementary compared to the Temps.
