Thanks a lot for the great videos. I have a somewhat irrelevant question that I would really appreciate the answer to. I have a set of POF fibers with HFBR duplex connectors. It is a variable frequency drive. I need to conduct fiber loss tests on these fibers and I cannot find any device on God's green earth that is compatible with these connectors and I do not know what to do. Can you refer me to anything that might be of help? Thanks!
coming from silicon fiberoptics this sounds bizarre, but i do understand too. would it not help to finisch the surfaces a little with a heat source (lighter) to smooth the end?
Very interesting. I'm new to POF fiber only having done SC/APC connectors before. Now I have seen some videos from Spain where they install POF fiber for indoor extension of FTTH with Gigabit Ethernet to POF media converters. The problems I see is: 1. These videos link to hardware kit with EUR pricing 2. Those videos do not offer any clue as to the technical specifications of dual strand pof fiber used 3. They use a kind if connector where you insert the bare fiber into female sockets and press on and that's it. What kind of connectors are those?
We can't comment on your first two points without seeing the videos, but for the third point, you most likely saw Firecomms OptoLock or Broadcom bare fiber termination systems. If you want to discuss more, feel free to contact us via our website or email.
good video. links to media converters, switch and cable source would be useful. just starting to look at POF for electrical isolation of backup system.
