Thanks for the video about this vacation. I have a question about luggage. I am assuming, we get to lug it between rail cart, hotel, bus, and then ship?
I haven't done videos just on the food yet. Just never thought of it. It was quite good. Not as much selection as the bigger ships but very well done. The Italian a la Carte was amazing and surf and turf was very reasonable for the food quality in my opinion.

So glad to hear that you guys had a positive experience onboard this ship. Its one that we have sallied on also, just as cruising was coming back after covid, so there were still some restrictions on board, but what an amazing crew Marella have.
What an incredible adventure this looked. Your vlog is so nicely edited, and has so much fascinating scenery and activity in it for only 12 minutes long. It really shows to its best, what amazing travel opportunities that cruise travel can deliver.
We also love to explore historic sites. And so whatever faith someone has, or has none at all, it is still magnificent to step into these places of world history, and know the events that took place there. This is fabulous to watch, and we imagine, was fabulous to visit; even in that weather ☔
I'll be in room 9172 in March 2025 Aft-Facing Penthouse Suite with Large Balcony. Supposed to have a butler and concierge. I hope it actually get the services I'm told and not treated like a stepchild because the room is not in the Haven proper. I'll have 6 Specialty dinners so there won't be a lack of good food on this 10 day Panama Canal cruise.
Names of several restaurants have changed from what they are called on the Pearl but I hope the Grand Pacific is just as good as the Summer Palace. The Jasmine was very nice as well. I hope the refurbishment in 2022 added some nice touches! I might be on the Jade in 2025.
We just got off the Jade's 14 night cruise around the Caribbean and I can't warn people away from this cruise hard enough. Boring, poorly laid out, and the dining options are terrible.
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your trip. There's nothing worse than not getting what you expected. I do agree that the ship is laid out a little "differently" which makes it more challenging to get around at times. As for the dining options I felt there were plenty. Jill and I do tend to eat in the main dining rooms for most meals, finding all buffets too busy and main of the other options are similar to what you can get in the dining rooms. Thank you for the feedback. Another perspective gives others a chance to make better decisions for their holiday planning. I hope your next trip is more to your liking.
Hi, can you help me with some info on the land tour part with Holland America tours, I was looking at a 12 day Danali/Yukon cruise/ land tour (Y41). Contacted HA chat line for info regarding what were the inclusions/exclusions of this package, eg, accommodation, meals, coach and rail, as I could not find anything on theier web site. They fobbed me off to a email address for the info, however, that was a dead end as the people at that address had nothing to do with bookings and told me to ring HA, start of the merry-go round. It would be nice to know what out of pocket expenses is involved. Cheers.
No problem. We were on Y41 as well. Basically, it included the transportation and the accommodations. It us on the train, bus and plane. The rooms were not fancy but they were certainly clean and comfortable. Lunch was included on travel days that took most of the day. All other food and beverages were not included. HA did a good job of pointing out decent places to eat and which ones to maybe avoid. Since you can decide for yourself where you are going to eat you can try to keep the prices reasonable. We ended up spending a little more than we were expecting to be honest but mostly because the price of food is relatively high and we picked some "premium" excursions. It definitely will be more than you are used to on a regular cruise. Be aware that there is A LOT of traveling in the land portion. Those days are packed full. HA has done a good job of making sure that you get off to stretch or see something if they can but it still makes for a few long days and you will need to be up early most of those days.

@@Dunroamin1952 No breakfast was not included. I highly recommend getting up a little early and going to the snow city cafe near the water. Get the reindeer sausage. We gave ourselves an extra day and rented bikes from the place right next door and cycled the trail along the ocean. Saw 2 moose right there. The accommodation is included and across the street is the glacier bay brewing company. Get dinner there. Sooo good.
We just got back...Had a balcony room on 9 as well.....Pretty compact for two grown people....especially the bathroom and toilet. That pool bar was our favourite as well....Massive props to Rafael, the bartender there.......
We did book directly with NCL. We had no issues but made sure that everything made sense prior to accepting flights etc. This is the 11 day Greece: Israel, Turkey & Cyprus trip on the Jade. I too have not been kind to my knees over the years and had no issues. We took some Moderate to difficult tours which included A LOT of walking but it was the distance not the difficulty of the walks that made it too much for some people.
Wife & I are looking forward to MS Koningsdam in the summer. Can someone please provide more details about the Rolling Stones rock room. Was it mainly classic rock (Rolling Stones, Journey, Beatles) and would the band perform evey night?
Yes Rolling Stone was rock every night. If you want some variety they played Blues and "funk" at BB King's and Billboard had pop music. They are all right next to each other so very easy to get up and check out what is happening elsewhere.
Thanks for posting. Slight disagreement about the Italian restaurant. It is more than just spaghetti and the one time we ate there ... Jan 2020 ... it was the best meal of our ten day cruise. Granted the ambience is not as nice as their other specialty restaurants, but the food was excellent. I don't think anyone in our party of four had spaghetti!
I agree I may have been a bit harsh. The food was good it was the ambience that was lacking for us. If we are eating at a specialty restaurant then I am paying for the experience more than the food. We've never been too disappointed with any meal on a cruise. Yes some are definitely better than others but never had anything that was really disastrous. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking the time to add you opinion in a respectable way. It will hopefully give others a better picture of what to expect. Happy sailing.

audio cuts out during the show, i was there las tyear during covid in 2 months we are taking our kids with us do you know if the kids club was open during your stay? thank you for the great video and up to date review
Sorry for the delay but yes the sushi bar was open daily. I am not a huge sushi fan but my wife and other guests say that it was very good. It was also not very busy.
