So bad it's good lol.....fond memories of working in a caravan park when this was out despite it definitely not being my thing (also know all the words but don't tell anyone 😅)
Hear’Say weren’t the best Pop Group in the likes of S Club 7 or Steps, but ‘Pure And Simple’ was a great song for its time and sold a million copies. Back when we had good Pop Music. At least some of the members went on to achieve success elsewhere in the later years like Kym Marsh for example, she’s had a successful acting career and had a good 13 year stint on Coronation Street as Michelle Connor
I remember when this came out. I had just turned 11 and it was during the foot and mouth crisis. Looking back Hear'Say were really just a low budget S Club 7 who were milked for all it was worth. Liberty X were far superior
I loved Hear'Say - i thought they all had good voices & blended well together. I hate they had to go through such a backlash. P.s. Good live vocals - especially so early after they formed.
I feel bad for Linzi Martin from Girl Thing, she wrote the verses and possibly the bridge of this song and never got any cowriting credit. The music business is cruel
The only reason this trash was number 1 was due to the Popstars show and everyone knows it. Unfortunately this was the era of talent show crap that ruined TV.
